Chapter 10

I flinch out of my trance, my body tensing in unison as the door slams, allowing the noise to echo throughout the house. I curl into myself on the barstool waiting for what is to come. My eyes widen as Cade comes storms into the kitchen his muscles tense. As godlike as he looked, his expression was enough to scare me.

He was mad.

His long fingers clutch my neck pulling me to his mouth. His teeth nip at my skin as I squeeze my eyes shut.

"Your fucking mine" his voices rasps into my ear and he sucks on my lobe sending shivers down my body before yanking me out of the kitchen.

He leads me to the front door and as soon as he opens it my heart drops down into my stomachs and for a second I lose the air in my lungs. My heart stops, then beats so fast I feel like Cade could hear it.

A familiar body stands outside the door with a small smile on his face and then he slowly his arms open.

I don't waste another second before I lunge into the familiar embrace, enjoying the brotherly aura that came along with it. I squeeze his shoulders and try to get as close as I can.

The moment doesn't last long, Cades large hands find my hips not even a second later, forcing me to let go and be removed from Jai's embrace

I get to look over Jai once before I'm pulled into cafes arms hugging him like I did Jai. A smile makes its way into my face and I can't help but to nuzzle Cades neck, he did this, for me!

I pull back and give Cade a small smile and while his glare softens I didn't miss the menacing gaze that Cade held in his eyes.

"I missed u Kay"

Jai steps inside the house pulling Cade and my attention back on to jai. His eyes are on me and he gives me the look. Asking me.

Are you ok?

A soft breath leaves my lips and my smile widens. I still can't believe he's here.

"She is mine"

Cade breaks the small moment and sits us down on the loveseat, keeping me in his lap as he continued to warn Jai with his eyes.

Jai didn't come to back down though.

"No she isn't, lets go Kay your uncle said he needs you home ASAP" 

I sigh. Jai doesn't get it. No one does. I'm not even sure I understand.

The safety to Cade provides calls to the scared little girl inside me promising protection and I can't seem to let it go. I can't.

I curl backwards into Cade slowly making eye contact with Jai as I shake my head.

"Yes you have to Kay, you uncle said it's time sensitive."

"Jai I can't!"

My voice comes out strained and the frustration of being misunderstood bubbles in my stomach.

"Why the fuck not"

A deep hmm reverberates though fades chest as his jaw ticks and his eyes loom predatorily at Jai. Though his body looks relaxed, Cades fingers dig into my hips, determined to bruise.

"Talk to her like that one more time I will fucking kill you"

Jai gulps but looks as me with his questioning eyes. He's asking me silently again.

"Jai, I really can't, you don't understand, I, I just..."

I trail off before dropping my head.
