Chapter 30

I gulp as I look down at her. There is no way. Not my baby. Things like this aren't supposed to happen to someone like her. Someone who brings life to the world. Except that it does, and life is cruel. I look down at her wide eyes trying to understand why she didn't tell me. Why she kept this from me.
"C-Cade" her lip trembles as she stares up at me. I lightly pick her up from my lap and set her down on the floor. I take a few steps back my breathing labored. She watches my every move as I circle her.
"Why didn't you tell me" my voice cracks for the first time since puberty and I toss her the phone. I watch as the color drains from her body. She whimpers shaking her head as she looks back up at me.
"N-n-no"
She backs up to the wall dropping my phone and stares down at it as if it were the devil himself. The message was pretty close to it.
"I di-didn't, I-I, he, he"
She drops down against the wall her breathing completely out of control and I feel my heart breaking. It feels like hell. Like someone's pushing the air out of your lungs and stomping on your heart. I feel my anger start to rise as well. That motherfucker has lived a life too long.
I slowly walk to her so I don't scare her and pick up my phone at her feet. I quickly click Lucca's contact.
"Get the gang ready and start heading to their warehouse, I'll be on my way as soon as Kay's safe, send me the address, oh and send someone with a car for Kay and Jai."
I hang up without letting Lucca argue. I lean my head out the door and call for Jai who was leaning against the opposing wall.
"Get ready we're about to leave."
I push the door to the restroom open for Jai follow me and I slide my phone into my pocket.
"Kay baby we're going to have to g-"
A shrill bell rings cutting me off. Jai looks at me a frown crossing his face.
"That would be the bell."
"Fuck"
I pick Kay up curling her up in my arms. I push the door open with my back and watch as every single person freezes. These little motherfuckers have no fucken manners. Didn't there mothers teach them it's rude to stare.
"Stop fucking staring and get the fuck out of my way, before I send a bullet through everyone of your brains."
People start to run avoiding me like I'm the grim. I walk out the front doors and one of my cars was waiting in the bus zone.
"Jai the keys are above the left back tire"
He jogs to the other side grabbing the keys and unlocking the driver door then the passenger door. I removed one hand from Kay to open the door and gently place her inside.
"Baby your going to go to one of my safehouse's ok?"
She nods her head staring down at her hands her breathing slowly leveling. I grab the GPS from the dashboard and type in coordinates of one of my favorite and closest safe house.
"Jai when you get there all you'll see is a big shed, it's not one, go in and move the middle oil barrel from against the back wall and you'll find a hatch. Lift it and have Kay type in the password, she'll know what it is, once you get the password it will open into the house."
I turn away from Jai looking at my baby.
"I love you"
With her wide eyes she looks up at me and her pupils dilate with recognition.
"I love you Cade"
She grabs onto me and I bury my head in her neck. I start to shake and slowly pull her arms from around my neck. She whimpers and fights me trying to hold on. Trust me I didn't want to let go either.
I shut her door with a smile and watch as she gets further and further away from me. Once I could no longer see her I run to my bike.
I drive with my GPS telling me the location of Kalazi's warehouse. It took a few minutes for my to catch up with the rest of the gang, but soon I was in front with 15 cars behind me packed, armed, and ready. I only have a pistol on me so we were going to have to stop so I can grab an automatic. We turn onto a dirt road and I stop when I know we're all covered. I step off my bike and face my army.
"I need a gun...now"
One of my younger guys hands me one and goes back with his group.
"Lucca get the fuck over here"
He steps out from a car a smirk and sly look in his eyes.
"I almost thought you forgot about me."
I flip him off with a glare and look at each and every one of my gang members.
"We're looking for Andrew Kalazi, I trust that Lucca has already shown you his file"
I get a series of nods except for one. A smile crosses my face at the kid's disobedience. I am already pissed and the world just wants to make it fucken worse.
"Is there something you want to say"
I start to walk towards him but stop half way. He stares at me and lets out words that only fuels my fire.
"Why are we looking for this guy, he only hurt one girl"
I slowly walk the rest of the way to him and his group leader smacks him upside the back of his head. So the west group got him. Poor guy's gonna get it later. He needs to learn what I say goes.
Easily I was four or five inches taller than the kid and that made this situation so much better.
"Are you new?"
He gulps and nods glancing to the side at his teammates.
I grab his jaw holding my pistol up to his head.
"That girl is my girl, and if I say where going to kill someone, we're going to kill someone...You are one lucky bastard, I would kill you right here but your not my target at the moment and we need every member we can get."
I step back from him and he nods his head quickly with a relieved sigh.
"Don't think I won't kill you later"
I turn to his group leader but still glare at the kid.
"Charlie keep this kid in line before I kill him"
He nods looking at the kid with anger and disappointment.
"Yes boss"
I turn away from them and walk back towards Lucca.
"Lets go."
Lucca turns to the gang yells split and I watch as they disappear into the forest.
My ear burns and I touch it feeling pain. Those motherfuckers shot at me. Bad aim though.
"Someone just nicked my ear, we gotta move."
"What"
"Someone just shot at my ear and grazed it we need to go Lucca"
"Ohhh ok"
I pull my automatic from around my neck and into my hands. Then tuck my pistol into my pants.
We dodge behind tree and soon bullets start flying. Everywhere.
I shot at everyone I didn't recognize as Andrew or one of my members. My gang was doing the exact same thing.
Minutes later it was dead silent. Not even a cricket made a sound. All enemy life here had been annihilated.
"Is any of them still alive."
My tone was full of utter rage. If that fucker got away. I let out a growl as I look for everyone for an answer.
No one says a word as I look at them.
"Mhmm"
All of our eyes were pulled to a man trying to get up off the ground.
"Grab him"
Two of my troop leaders grab him each taking an arm. I motion them to bring him to me and a murderous desire controls my body.
I smack his face to get him to look at me.
"Where is he"
Even shot a few times this man managed to have a mischievously look on his face. Licking his lips he spits at my feet.
"He's already gone l-"
He coughs a few times before continuing.
"Looking for your girl"
"What did he say"
He keeps his mouth shut and I dig my hand into one of his bullet holes.
"What did he say"
I say each word slowly twisting my hand into his body.
"H-he said AHH"
I yank my hand out of his body and watch as he pants.
"Continue"
"He said he was going to get what belonged to him"
My jaw clenches.
"Take him to the warehouse, get all the information you can out of him. When you can't get anymore call me"
The two troop leaders drag him off there groups following them.
"I need the north and west groups as well as my red group."
The three groups step gather in front of me. A few people staring at me sorrow feeling a few of there eyes. They all knew about Kay. She had baked them all cookies for them and their families and now most of them considered her family. This was a loss for all of us, Andrew was still out there.
"Sorry Boss, we almost had him"
I stare at my North Leader. He'd taking a liking to Kay, after I went over the her file with my group leaders. He always asked to make sure she was okay whenever we saw each other. I nod at him my jaw clenching harder.
"Clean this up, leave no trace of us."
They all nod in unison and clear a path for me to walk to.
"I need keys I'm taking a car"
The leader the North tosses me a set of keys and I toss him my motorcycle keys.
"Take it back to my house"
I walk towards Lucca who was standing at the forest line.
"Lets go"
We walk side by side Lucca's head down while I stare straight ahead. Lucca nudges to my shoulder grabbing my attention.
"We'll get him"
I nod silently.
"I know"

I lift the hatch, and type my password. I just wanted to see Kay, she makes everything so much better. I walk down the steps Lucca following close behind me and closing the hatch.
"Cade you alright man"
I glare back at the man I call my best friend
"What the fuck do you think?"
He puts his hands up in surrender and steps down to the step above mine.
"Relax, we'll find him, then you can torture him and I can clean up his blood"
We both smile at the thought, I can't wait to kill Andrew. To hold his pathetic life in my hands.
I step down opening the door to my safehouse. A few seconds later and Jai pops into my view a smile across his face.
"Is he dead"
My gaze hardens and his smile drops.
"Where is she"
"What happened to your ear"
I pull my gun out aiming straight between his eyes. I then notice my hand was still bloodied from the man we had found.
"I not going to fucken ask again where the fuck is she"
"Cade"
I drop my gun to the floor at her angelic voice.
"Baby"
I run to her picking her up in my arms squeezing as tight as I can. This is what I needed.
"C-Cade c-can't be-breath"
I chuckle loosening my hold so I can look at her.
"Sorry" 
She smiles looking up at me then her face drops.
"Your ear"
She gasps in concern turning my face so she could look at it.
She pushes against me and I let her slide down my body. She grabs my hand and pulls me after her into on the main bathrooms.
"What happened to your hand"
I don't answer.
"I made cookies for the gang again"
I twist her body back towards mine and peck her lips.
"Good they were worried about you."
I pick her up and set her beside the sink and place my hands on either side of her.
"Really"
Her face flushes and she pulls me closer to her fragile little body.
"Did anyone get hurt"
I shake my head pulling her in for a kiss. I shove my tongue into her mouth taking complete control as I pull her further off the counter into my body. Her hands come up to my face cupping my jaw with her small hands.
"Can I fix your ear now"
She pulls away and I groan.
"One more kiss"
She giggles before giving me a peck on the cheek. My face drops as I scoff and yank her into me. 
"That wasn't a kiss"
"Yes it was"
"No this is"
I slam my lips back onto hers tasting her once more before she pulls away.
"Stop kissing me I have to fix your ear."
"It's not even that ba-oww"
She puts some liquid on my ear and it burns like hell.
"What is that"
She bits her lip trying to contain her laughter.
"It was rubbing alcohol"
"Well it hurts like a bitch"
She giggles lightly dabbing my ear with the cotton ball.
"Did you kill anyone"
She taps my jaw her face suddenly serious. I stare down at her not responding. She got her answer in my silence and placed her hands around my neck.
"Killing isn't always the answer"
I step back a bit and glare, anger starting to muster in my body.
"He nearly fucken.... god how can you say that with all that he's done to you, how can you live knowing he's after you and act like it's alright, I had to find out what he did to you through a fucken text because you didn't feel the need to tell me, you didn't fucken think how I'd feel, did you?"
She whimpers trying to curl up on the counter but I grab her jaw forcing her to look at me. I was scaring her. Good.
"He now has a fucken gang behind him do you realize that, do you realize how much fucken harder its going to be to kill that mother fucker, god do you even realize, how hard it is for me knowing he did that to you. Do you? I have to live with the thought of him being able to do that again and I can't let that happen, whether you like it or not I will fucken kill him"
I pant out of breath from yelling and I pull her into me.
"I-I'm sorry"
I nuzzle my face into her neck inhaling her scent.
"I didn't mean to yell baby"
"I know"
She leans her head against mine relaxing in my embrace.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I-I was s-scared
of-of"
"Shh it's alright I know, I was just angry"
"I love you baby"
"I love you too Cade"
"Baby I need you to tell me everything"
I pull my head back so I could look her in the wide eyes.
"E-everything?"
I sigh kissing her forehead.
"Yes everything"
