"No way! What an asshole!" Emma yelled dramatically, crossing her arms. She looked at Regina with a goofy smile on her face, she couldn't help it. Regina smiled, nodding.

"He actually thought you WANTED to have sex with him? What a creep." Emma scrunched her nose. It had become a ritual between the two. Regina and Emma were both fairly comfortable around each other now. Regina came into the coffee shop almost daily and they just talked. Sometimes their conversations were casual and occasionally they'd get deeper.

"As if I'd sleep with him. He was a client." Regina said in disgust. Emma frowned slightly. Was that the only reason Regina wouldn't sleep with the man? Of course it was. She was straight, after all.

Regina looked up at Emma and noticed the crestfallen look in her eyes. She didn't know why, but she hastily defended herself,

"I wouldn't have slept with him anyways, client or not."

Emma brightened at this. Of course, she knew it was hopeless. Regina was surely straight, much less interested in being with an 18 year old. She still couldn't help how attracted she was to the older woman though.

"Regina Mills." Emma said loudly.

"Emma Swan." Regina said back slowly, savoring the way the blonde's name tasted on her tongue. Emma's heart raced.

"It's that time of the day." She said quietly, glancing at her watch. It was Friday, and Regina always left at seven when Emma had to close the shop. Regina frowned.

"Perhaps I can stay a little longer. If you don't mind, that is." Regina said quickly.

"Yeah sure!" Emma said a little too enthusiastically. She crossed the shop and flipped the sign on the door to say closed.

Regina's eyes followed the blonde across the room. She traced her eyes along the blonde's figure. Emma turned around and removed her apron, leaving her in a tight black turtle neck and skinny jeans. Regina licked her lips unconsciously.

Emma went back behind the counter, tidying up the area. Finally, she turned around to face Regina.

"Well are you just going to sit there?" She joked. Regina jolted, realizing she had been staring silently at Emma's ass. She quickly adjusted her gaze, a light blush on her cheeks.

"My apologies." She said quickly.

"Anyways, tell me your story, Regina. How did you get into the business you're in now?" Emma asked, leaning back against the counter and crossing her arms casually.

"It's quite a boring story." Regina warned.

"Go for it." Emma encouraged. She was positive that nothing coming from Regina's lips would ever be boring to her.

"Alright, dear, if you insist." Regina said, taking a deep breath and beginning her story. She explained where she went to college, and how she never planned to get into the business industry. She had always wanted to be a writer. It was a fairly sad story. Regina enjoyed what she was doing now, but writing had always been her passion. Now she hardly ever wrote. She had no one to read it anyways.

"Aw man. That sucks. Well if you ever want to write again, I would love to read anything." Emma said. Regina felt her heart fluttering at the blonde's endearing enthusiasm. She chastised herself immediately. She absolutely could not have feelings for the older teenager. It was preposterous.

Yet her lips twitched and she couldn't keep herself from smiling.

"'Perhaps one day." She said. Emma smiled. One day? Was the older woman planning to stick around for a while?

"Emma, I really shouldn't be keeping you." Regina said, glancing at her watch. It was already 8. "I'm sure you have friends or college parties to get to, it's a Friday night." Regina realized.

"Oh no. No friends. Definitely no parties." Emma said.

"Surely you have a roommate who will be missing your company?" Regina implored.

"I don't have a roommate." Emma said quietly, looking down. She didn't have anyone. She kept to herself in her classes, just trying to learn. Then on all her free time, she worked so that she could afford her rent and school.

"Oh. That must get quite lonely." Regina said. She empathized with the blonde. She knew what it was like to be lonely.

"You'd think that in a big city full of so many people and things to do that it wouldn't feel so lonely. Actually, it feels lonelier. I'm still just a small orphan in a huge city." Emma admitted, refusing to look Regina in the eyes. She hardly ever talked like this, she normally kept her darkest emotions to herself. Something about Regina made her just want to open her heart and let the contents pour out.

Suddenly she felt warmth on the top of her left hand. Regina had reached over the counter and put her hand over Emma's. Emma looked up and her breath stopped. Brown eyes met green and the only sound that could be heard was the frantic beating of their two hearts.

"I'm so sorry, I had no idea. I'm here for you if you ever wish to confide in someone." Regina said, her thumb moving ever so slightly on the back of Emma's hand.

"Thank you." Emma whispered, unable to say anything else. She was at a loss for words. Regina Mills was touching her and Emma was speechless.

Regina's hand let go of Emma's and pulled out a business card from her bag. She slid it across the counter to Emma.

"Ignore the business information, but my cellphone number is at the bottom there. Please don't hesitate to use it if you so desire." Regina said, standing up.

"I don't want to be your charity case, it's fine." Emma said quickly. She hated when people sympathized over her.

"You're not my charity case. Is it so difficult to believe that I actually just care about you? I do. Please believe that." Regina said. She desperately just wanted to wrap her arms around the blonde, but she decided that wasn't the best idea.

"Have a good night, Emma." Regina said, slipping her coat on and walking towards the door.

"You too. Thank you." Emma said softly. She took the business card and clenched it tightly in her hand as if it was gold. It was gold to her.
