Xander's Love

Chapter seven

One week later......

Xander has been acting strange for quite some time now. It worries me.
He hasn't touched me in almost a week, it's as if he's ashamed to.

The other day I went into his room since he refuses to come sleep with me, and I began to kiss him. He woke up startled.
"Alice what are you doing?"
"You haven't touched me" I sighed.
"I'm just not in the mood, okay?" His voice sounded cold and icy. Bile raised in my throat at his harsh words. Xander turned around giving me his back. I gave up and left back to my bed.

I confronted Eva about his recent attitude and she told me not worry about it. We left to feed yesterday and Xander refused to go with us. I went with Julian, Eva and Theo instead. Soon enough everyone was noticing the tension and seemed to look at me with pity. I was being driven mad! Somehow I need to find a way for Xander to talk to me. Maybe I'll try later today.

I searched all late afternoon for Xander. I ended up running into the next best thing.
"Hey Caleb you haven't seen Xander have you?" Caleb was headed for the door. He seemed at a loss of words or in shock of my question.
"Well... Umm.."
"Caleb?" I scold. He rubs his neck, definitely nervous.
"Alice do yourself a favor and forget about Xander" he goes out the door before I can say anymore. I follow him out the door but hid behind one of the chairs. Caleb turns back to the door to check if I was following him. Then he runs off. Fuck! I have to follow. I leap off the porch and follow behind as Caleb swishes and maneuvers through the forest. He suddenly stops in the town and I hid behind a car. Caleb turns left then right and walks over to a grey Range Rover. I listen in.
"Were you followed?" It's Liam.
"No but Alice caught me at the door. It was a close call"
"I feel so bad for her" Theo.
"But can you blame Xander?" Liam says. The engine starts. I got to get a car. I remember Julian telling me about the cars we have hidden in town for us to use. If there were any they would be behind this shop called Lou's Auto Parts. I run over and find two cars. There's a red convertible and a black Audi. I love black. The keys are hidden in the hood where Julian showed me.

I back up and follow behind the boys, making sure to keep a safe distance.
Liam drives out of town and it seems like we are forever on the highway. I'm anxious. Then they take an exit.
"Where are you all going?" I whisper to myself. We come up to a city and drive past into a huge Suburban neighborhood. Night has already fallen and we come up to a huge house on the corner with lots of expensive looking cars parked around. People are walking in and out of the place. It's a party.

I park farther out and duck under cars as I see Liam and the boys heading up the steps and greeting people as they go. After a few seconds I get up and straighten myself. To my surprise I actually look ready for a party. I'm dressed in black leather tights with my new brown boots and a dark red blouse that shows my breasts nicely. I remove my hair tie and let my black hair fall onto my back with its thick curls I did this morning. I walk up to the house and catch many eyes and whistles. As I walk up the porch the music becomes much louder. The door is kept unlocked. The smell of human blood smacks me in the face. Control yourself, Alice.

People are grinding and dancing to the music. Girls are in packs drinking and gossiping. Boys flirting with other girls. Everyone seems either drunk or high. But as I make my way through the house I begin to notice something. There is a lot of people with jet black hair and pale skin. Mother of god. It's vampires and humans all in one place. That's when I see in corners of the house there are one or two vampires sucking the necks of humans.
It was like a giant orgy for vampires.

I see Caleb dancing on a girl with a red solo cup in his hand already. I see Liam coming down the hall forcing his way through the crowd. Fuck I gotta hide. I go the other direction towards the giant living room. Liam heads upstairs. A vampire bumps into me.
"Sorry pretty thing, didn't see you there" he smirks. The scent of alcohol reeking off of him.
"Ugh..." I turn to walk away but he grabs my arm. I swing my free arm at his face and he falls to the floor with a thud. It causes a small scene and the girls in the corner are gaping at me.

I decide to follow wherever Liam has gone upstairs. All I find is some more drunk humans and vampires sucking neck. I need to find a restroom, I feel so claustrophobic!! I open the first door I see that isn't being blocked by dancing people, look up and see Xander on the edge of the bed with some vampire straddling him and making out.

"You fucking prick!!!" I yell. They both turn around and the girl fumbles to button up her blouse. I'm surprised they both aren't fully naked or maybe I just walked in right before the good stuff happened.
"Alice?!" The girl runs past me and down the stairs. I slam the door shut and cross the room before slapping Xander in the face. Hard. He looks up at me dumbfounded.
"I hate you!!!" I go out on a full on rage. I begin to just swat Xander all over.
"Alice!.... Alice!! Stop!" He grabs a hold of my wrists and tears ran down my face. I try to pry my wrists from his hands but fail.
"I hate you! I hate you!" I yell between sobs. Xander just frowns and looks at me with sadness. He lets go of my wrists and I fall backwards on the floor. Xander goes to help me.
"No!! Stay away from me!!" He runs a hand through his hair and slams his fists on the desk next to me making me flinch. The door opens, Caleb and Liam walk in. They look down at me in shock. Before anyone can say anything. I run.

I stumble over to the car and fumble for the key that I had tucked into my boot. My eyes are blurry with tears. I open the door and jump in. I am so angry and hurt. How could he do this to me? I slam my hands on the steering wheel and let my head lay on the window as I cry and cry.

Xander is a broken man but now he has broken me.
