Megan

The lights of the torches burned my eyes and I flailed blindly in an attempt to regain my balance. I felt the searing pain of silver burning through my fur and many layers of skin. I howled in pain and lashed out at the nearest human – feeling my claws slice through their soft flesh. Cries of panic followed, I was once again prodded once more with silver.

I snarled; baring my fangs at the humans surrounding me. I fed off the terror that showed on their faces, I filling me up with a new strength. I leaped up – clearing the mob with ease. As soon as my paws touched the ground I took off bounding in swift leaps away from the human village.

There were no pursuers which surprised me slightly however I blew it off and just focused on getting back to the pack house. Megan get your arse back to the house now! My Alpha said through my pack’s mind link. I rolled my eyes, yeah yeah I’m coming dad. Being the Alphas ONLY daughter can be seriously annoying sometimes.

I heard shouting behind me, looks like the situation is about to get interesting. “WEREWOLF!” A cry sounded through the small village ringing around the area that surrounded it. I began to run faster, pushing myself, every ounce of strength that I had left going into my tired legs.

MEGAN NOW! My dad yelled at me in my head – which really didn’t help with the situation in anyway. I AM COMING! I yelled back hoping that he got the message this time. MEGAN I MEAN IT! Nope guess he didn’t.

A spear whistled past my ear – this village meant business which meant I am seriously screwed. MEGAN! John my older brother screamed at me. Gahh stupid big brothers why the heck did God have to curse me with FOUR? Seriously what did I do?

“DIE UNEARTHLY SCUM!” A villager yelled – I faintly registered the pain of a bullet entering my back. Really? I only just healed the other bullet wound! “OW!” I yelled, although all that came out was a guttural noise that sounded close to a dying hippo.

Several more bullets penetrated my flesh, the pain only barely registered in my panicking mind. Megan, I just thought I should let you know that dad is gonna kill you when you get back to The House. My youngest brother Nathan informed me smugly, SHUT UP NATHAN! I growled while dodging another spear – the pale dawn light glinting off the deadly silver object.

Finally I spotted the entrance to the pack house. I ran towards the arch way. The entrance was hidden away and guarded with several hexes that to be honest I had my suspicions about, because really a hundred and whatever year old hex can’t seriously still work. I crashed through the bushes, thorns catching on my fur.

At last I reached the gate. I growled in frustration once I realised that I had once again forgotten my key. Hey Cameron can you buzz me in? I asked my middle brother hopefully, he was the most likely to let me in and if he didn’t then I am dead. Really? Megan? Again? Cameron asked in a condescending way. I rolled my eyes and nodded, then I realised he couldn’t see me nodding. JUST OPEN THE GATE! I was getting really impatient now.

I could hear the cries of the villagers, calling for me, wanting me to come out simply so they could kill me.  A click signalling that the gate was open brought me back to the real world. I did a small victory dance, Stop dancing and get your butt in here! Cameron said. Dam him.

I pushed the gate open and walked up the drive way to the house. When I reached the door I stealthily opened the door and made my way down the corridor like a ninja. Of course I had to stub my toe on the corner of the wall right near my room. I cursed under my breath and grabbed at my toe, hoping around on one foot.
