"You'll never believe what just happened!" Ally bursts out as she takes her seat beside me at the lunch table in the cafeteria.
"Really Ally, what happened?" Aria trills, mimicking Ally. Ally rolls her eyes at Aria and continues to open her yoghurt, taking a spoonful of it and licking it clean.
"Anyway," Ally continues flicking her eyes at Aria, "when I went to my locker I saw Hayden Miller zoom out of the parking lot in his shiny new Aston Martin, sounds like someone's jigging school." She wiggles her eyebrows in accordance to her dramatic speech of the day.
"Yeah I already knew," I mumble, biting into my shiny red apple that really reminds me of Snow White and the apple that left her in a coma. On that thought I put my apple back on the table as an odd feeling settles in my stomach.
"How did you find out?" Ally gapes spinning in her chair to face me.
"We both got kicked out of the classroom because he was being a twat so he just left," I say as Ally eyes my carefully.
"Why did he hang around for a whole period before leaving though?" Ally urges on but before she has a chance to keep rumbling on Aria cuts in.
"Hang on a minute," Aria marvels leaning over the table, "you, Miss Goody Two Shoes, got kicked out of the classroom?"
"It wasn't my fault," I grumble, "he just happened to knock me off my chair-"
"Knock you off? I'm pretty sure it was your nerves that sent you off the chair," a voice scoffs from behind, cutting me off. I freeze and watch Ally's eyes widen in astonishment and the smirk cross Aria's face. My friends often handle these sort of situations differently. I try to contain my temper knowing he's only trying to tempt me. "She couldn't contain herself," his voice whispers in my ear and I stiffen.
"I think you should go now," Aria says in the politest tone she can muster, which isn't very.
"That would just be too hard for wittle Evelyn here," he mocks in a childish tone and it's enough to send me over.
"Could you just leave?" I rage spinning in my seat.
"You need to cool off babe," Hayden smiles a wicked glint in his eyes.
"I'm fine tha-" I'm cut short when a cup of iced water is thrown in my face. My eyes bulge and I gasp in shock. Apparently the whole of the school cafeteria had been watching our little scene because everyone was in hysterics of laughter. Hayden wraps his free arm around his stomach exploding with laughter and in his other hand the cup of iced water. Instead of running off to the bathroom and giving everybody the satisfaction they desire I turn in my seat and dab at the water on my face with a napkin. Ally sits beside me clearly shocked whilst Aria is glaring fiercely at someone behind me, no doubt Hayden.
"Evelyn are you ok?" Ally babbles wiping away the ice from the seat.
"Perfectly fine," I seethe through clenched teeth, smacking the napkin back down on the table.
"Well it looks like Hayden decided to come back for school, maybe he went to go get lunch elsewhere?" Aria shrugs and goes back to eating. Damn I wish he had left, I swear this kid has it in for me. Obviously military school has taught him absolutely nothing.
"You really don't like him do you?" Ally whispers so close I flinch forgetting she was sitting next to me.
"Well obviously not," I mutter under my breath.
"You shouldn't let him get to you like that," Aria interjects, crossing her arms firmly and a familiar look crosses her face. I grumble and play with the silver ring joined to the silver necklace that was once my Mum's.
