"Evelyn, you look like you've just seen a ghost," Aria speculates, narrowing her eyes at me. Slowly I turn to face her, feeling almost faint.
Ok hang on; rewind. Maybe I'm being just a little dramatic here. It couldn't be so bad, could it? Seriously Evelyn, c'mon just two weeks in an activity group with him. I don't even have to see him at night or in the morning. Pfft this'll be easy peasy.
"No I think I'm fine," I say, blinking a fair few times out of my state of shock.
"You think?" she puzzles, tilting her head as she studies me with somewhat concern.
"Mhm," I say, unease trembling in the base of my throat threatening to come up in a jumble of words.
"Evelyn, c'mon we know something's up, especially with everything that's going on." Both of them stare with piercing gazes and I can just tell they're already onto me. I swallow down my nerves, finding it hard to keep eye contact with them for more than a second.
"Evelyn, cut the crap, we can tell when you're lying," Ally snaps.
"Yeah, how?" I say, raising an eyebrow at her.
She places her hands on my shoulders suddenly stopping me from moving, "When you're nervous you rise up and down on your feet. Evelyn please, we know you too well."
"Alright fine," I huff, crossing my arms so that Ally lets go. "What did you want to know?"
"I think you ought to start from the beginning," Aria says, eyeing me carefully.
"No short cuts or skipping out anything," Ally says. "We want every single knitty, gritty detail."
Sighing, I let my eyes fall to the floor hoping for some inspiration yet all I find are sneaker marks. Thanks for the inspiration floor, here goes nothing.
I take a deep breath as I look up into their eager eyes and instantly every single emotion, every thought or feeling comes reeling out.

"So you two have a, a deal thing going on?" Ally asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Yup," I reply, popping the 'p'.
"Hang on, repeat what this deal was again?" Aria asks, furrowing her brows. I sigh, pulling a loose strand of hair back behind my ear.
"We've both agreed to steer clear of each other until it blows off, so he can get his reputation back."
"What a dickhead, wants his reputation back," Aria mimics in a low tone that she surprisingly pulls off quite well. Another thought floats into my mind and we all go quiet as I look them both in the eyes, finishing on a serious note.
"Is this what all the looks were about? The photos?" I ask, feeling almost hurt that they'd think I'd gone down that track. Through both their eyes I see the shame flash through and my heart drops. They really did think I would.
"Yes but Evelyn-" shaking my head I begin to walk backwards, knocking off the hand Ally reaches out to me. The bell rings and I take it as an excuse to leave, rushing out for homeroom. I become enveloped in the crowd as students rush out from each classroom, creating a lot of chaos and noise. By the time I plonk down in my seat for homeroom I feel like I have accomplished absolutely nothing. Telling Aria and Ally about the deal with Hayden was one thing, one thing I thought was good, but now it's turned into something I was hoping it wouldn't be. On top of that veering clear of Hayden at camp is going to be even harder than it was before because I'm going to be spending all day long with him.
