Chapter Six: Falling Apart

"Joe what is this?" Georgina asked turning to look at Joe, she stared at him with big eyes knowing that everything was going to change and she had no idea what he had been hiding from her during the last few weeks. 

Joe opened and closed his mouth in an attempt to think of what he was going to say, he had to tell Georgina if he wanted to be involved in his baby's life and he couldn't imagine how she was going to react to this piece of news. 

"What is this?" Georgina asked again staring at her fiancé, she wanted answers on why she was holding a sonogram picture that didn't belong to her; she didn't want to believe that this was actually happening to her. 

Georgina had always pitied the women that ended up with footballers who slept around, she had never thought in a million years that Joe would ever do that to her. 

"I am so sorry," Joe said not knowing what else to say to her, she deserved so much better and he knew that he deserved what was coming; he should have been honest with her from the start. 

Georgina dropped the scan, her entire world collapsing as it dawned on her that yes Joe had cheated on her and yes he had gotten that other woman pregnant; she was completely silent as she wondered what the hell had happened. 

"It was an accident," Joe murmured, he had some explaining to do and he had hide this from her for long enough; he couldn't imagine what was going through her mind. 

Georgina stared at him, she didn't know how he could have accidentally gotten someone pregnant and she wanted to scratch his pretty little eyes out for even looking at another woman. 

"It was the night I went out to celebrate my birthday," Joe mumbled remembering the horrible fight that they'd had, he had gone out with some friends since Georgina had refused to go out with him; he had been angry that he hadn't wanted to celebrate his birthday with him.

"So you fucked another woman for revenge," Georgina spat furious that he had done it, she hadn't wanted to go out for his birthday so he'd fallen into bed with another woman to punish her for that. 

Georgina had ignored Joe's pleas to go out for dinner or doing anything with him for his birthday, she had never thought that it would come back to bite her on the arse like this. 

"It wasn't like that I swear," Joe said shaking his head, he had never gone out with the attention of hurting Georgina; he had gotten so drunk and he hated that this had happened. 

Joe wanted to be responsible for the life that Gabriella was going to bring into the world and that meant dealing with the consequences of what he had done; he could only hope that Georgina and his parents would forgive him for his actions. 

"Then what was it like Joe?" Georgina snapped getting to her feet, she couldn't believe this and they were so close to getting married; she had been looking forward to becoming Mrs Georgina Hart and she had even been practicing her signature and spent thousands of pounds on the wedding. 

"I was drunk... so was she. I regretted it the moment it was over," Joe tried to explain, this was going worse than he had imagined and he had no idea what to say; he wouldn't even blame her if she called things off between them. 

Georgina stared at Joe, she clenched her hands resisting the urge to lash out and she felt her blood boil at his words; she tried to imagine what sort of woman had stolen her man from her and was now carrying his first child. 

"But you didn't regret it while fucking her," Georgina snarled before she grabbed the lamp that was next to her and launched it at Joe; it shattered against the wall making him flinch.

Joe stared at the lamp and swallowed, he looked at Georgina who had tears in her eyes and he wished that he could make this better in some way; he had never meant to hurt her but there was no way around that now.

"Who is she?" Georgina demanded pacing the room, she wanted to know who the slut was that had tried to steal Joe; she was going to give her a piece of her mind and she didn't care if she was pregnant. 

Joe looked away from Georgina, he didn't want to tell her that it was Gabriella; he wanted to keep things quiet and he knew that it wouldn't change anything anyway. 

"It doesn't matter," Joe insisted not wanting to open that can of worms, he wanted to keep Gabriella out of sight especially while she was pregnant; he could only imagine what would happen if this got out to the press. 

Georgina gritted her teeth, she couldn't believe that he was trying to protect the woman that had ruined everything for them; she wanted to know who was responsible so she could deal with them. 

"Of course it does... the slut is having your baby," Georgina spat, she didn't care for the baby and she knew it was going to be another problem for her; she had worked hard to keep Joe's interest but that clearly wasn't going to be good enough. 

Joe was silent, he didn't know why Georgina was so insistent on knowing and he worried what she would do with the information; he didn't want to deal with everyone all at once knowing. 

"Who is she?" Georgina demanded reaching for something else to throw at Joe, she wanted to kill him for this but she knew that her anger was best saved for the whore. 

Joe flinched ducking out of the way as she throw something else at him, it smashed against the wall and he looked at her; he doubted his relationship was going to come back from this. 

"Gabriella Evans," Joe revealed watching as Georgina completely stopped and stared at him, he swallowed knowing that there was no going back now. 

Georgina's face turned a bright red as she stared at Joe, he had fucked around with a wedding planner; she ignored the irony knowing that it wasn't time to laugh.

"I wanted that woman to organise our wedding and you would have let that happen," Georgina hissed slapping Joe across the face, she couldn't stop herself from attacking him at the idea of what had happened. 

Joe didn't stop Georgina, he deserved it and he knew that he should have spoken up sooner; this was all his fault and there was no way for him to fix any of this. 

Georgina pulled off her engagement ring and threw it at Joe, she quickly grabbed her bag and her car keys before hurrying out of the house; she didn't want to spend another moment listening to Joe talk. 

Jumping into her car, Georgina sped away from the house as she thought about what had happened; she gripped the stirring wheel wanting to hurt Joe for what he had done. 

Georgina smirked as an idea formed in her mind, she reached for her phone and set up the hands free speakers; she wanted to get even and this was the perfect way for her to do so. 

Georgina quickly found the contact that she was looking for, she used this journalist when she wanted to boost her publicity and now she would use it to get revenge on Gabriella for what she had done. 

"I have a story I think you will be interested in," Georgina said when the journalist answered, she knew that this would destroy Gabriella's business; she would be ruined if it came out that she had slept with a footballer who was about to get married and was going to have his baby. 

Georgina quickly started to spill the beans, she would get all the pity and she didn't care what people thought about Joe; it would teach him a lesson that he would never forget. 

Georgina only cared that Gabriella would suffer, she would lose everything when this story became public knowledge.
