Chapter Twenty-Four: You Are Amazing

"Is she going to be alright?" Gabriella asked looking at the doctor curiously, it had been a long night and she couldn't wait to go home and cuddle with Joe; everyone had come from the charity to the hospital after what had happened. 

It had been a nasty shock and Gabriella doubted anyone would be forgetting what had happened, it was already all over the news and someone had even caught what had happened on camera. 

"We're going to transfer her to a secure facility where Georgina will get the help that she desperately needs," the doctor replied knowing that Georgina was in a very bad way, her body was in such a terrible state right now that it looked like she was going to need a transplant. 

Joe took a deep breath, he couldn't believe what had happened and he hoped that this would be the wake-up call that Georgina needed to sort herself out; she was so thin right now and Joe couldn't help but worry. 

The doctors had been far from pleased with the state of their patient, she was clearly very ill and Joe knew that she was in the best place for her right now. 

Gabriella's quick decision had no doubt saved Georgina's life, she had been first to do something even after the other woman had tried to stab her in the back and kill her. 

David had been quickly treated and the hospital had released him to go home, he wouldn't be able to play for a few weeks but he had been extremely lucky stepping in front of the knife like that. 

The doctor left leaving the couple alone, they were doing everything that they could for Georgina and they would make sure that she got the best possible treatment. 

Gabriella looked at Joe, she was ready to go home now and she wanted nothing more than to change out of her dress; she was exhausted and she wanted to relax after what had happened.

Moving to lead Gabriella out of the waiting room, Joe nodded to a couple of his team-mates knowing that now they saw what an amazing person she was; she could have let Georgina die for what she had done but she hadn't done that. 

"Gabriella," called a voice making the couple stop, they turned to see one of the younger women approaching them with a friendly smile on her face. 

It had been a long night and Joe wasn't in the mood to deal with the falseness right now, he knew what was going to happen and he doubted that Gabriella was going to fall for it. 

"We're going shopping tomorrow and we would love for you to join us," the woman said signalling back to her friends, she smiled hoping that Gabriella would agree; after seeing her save Georgina, it would be amazing to spend time with her now. 

The press going to want to see Gabriella and it would look so good on the other women to be seen with her; they had to show a united front and it wasn't like they had done anything wrong. 

Gabriella stared at the woman as if she was crazy, they had all treated her like dirt since she had started dating Joe and she wanted nothing to do with any of them; she would be civil at events but that was about it. 

Hollie was the only one that treated her like a person, she had been wrong to sleep with Joe while he was dating Georgina but it took two to tango and they had such a wonderful little girl now. 

"I'm not interested," Gabriella replied before turning away from the woman, she had friends and she didn't need fake people hanging off her; she wanted to focus on her relationship and raising Elena. 

They were what mattered to her, Gabriella didn't care what any of these people thought; they were all so small to her that they didn't matter.

"Have I told you how amazing you were tonight?" Joe asked watching Gabriella slip off her shoes, he didn't know what would have happened if Georgina had been successful but he knew he would have never forgiven himself. 

Watching Gabriella fight to keep his ex-girlfriend alive after she had attempted to murder her; no one had known quite what to do and Gabriella had really organised them. 

"You could have let her die," Joe mumbled knowing that no one would have blamed her if she had, Georgina had been a thorn in their side since things had ended and it still surprised Joe that she thought he would take her back. 

Gabriella shook her head, she didn't want anyone's blood on her hands and she was sure it would have haunted her if she had let Georgina die; she just hoped that was the end of it now. 

"I don't think I would have forgiven myself if I had just done nothing," Gabriella replied moving to sit down on the couch, she ran her fingers through her hair knowing that she would need to call her parents to let them know that she was okay. 

It was all over the news now and Gabriella was sure they would be worried, they had Elena with them right now and she wanted to see how their little girl was doing being with her grandparents. 

Joe smiled wrapping his arms around Gabriella, things were going to change now and he hoped that Gabriella would be treated better now when it came to events for the team. 

They had all seen her act so quickly to save Georgina and it was bound to have some sort of affect, already the women that were with their men for the wrong reasons wanted to spend time with her. 

Joe was a little relieved that Gabriella had said no, he didn't want her getting involved with the wrong people and he knew that she had her own friends. 

It had been a while since Gabriella had been able to see them properly, they were all at work and had their own families; Joe knew it was only a matter of time before Gabriella returned to herself.

The couple hadn't really talked about when Gabriella would return to work, they had been enjoying their time as a couple and raising their daughter together; it was going to be strange when Gabriella did go back to work. 

"I love you," Joe murmured wrapping his arms around her, he held her close knowing how different everything could be right now; he could have so easily lost Gabriella tonight. 

It scared him how it could have all been so different, Joe didn't think he could raise Elena alone and he knew that it would have been devastating to lose her. 

Joe knew that there was no way that he could forgive Georgina now, he didn't care what happened to her only that she stayed far away from his family; they were everything to him now. 

"I love you too," Gabriella whispered kissing Joe softly, they had barely been together for two months and already they had been through so much; it seemed so strange to think how serious their relationship was after such a short amount of time. 

Joe kissed Gabriella holding her close, he loved her so much and he knew that they'd barely had any real time to be a couple; he couldn't remember them going out to dinner or doing normal couple things since they had Elena to worry about. 

"I want to take you out," Joe murmured softly pulling away from Gabriella, they really hadn't done anything like a couple would and he wanted to change that; he didn't want to lose Gabriella because they weren't working on their relationship. 

Gabriella blinked in surprise, she nodded her head wondering what Joe had in mind; she couldn't remember the last time that she'd been out on a date and she was curious about what Joe was thinking about.
