Shenandoah's POV

"Ohh come on. Shenandoah, it won't be that bad." Carmody stated for the fiftieth time this evening. We were pulling up to the huge mansion that belonged to my beloved parents. The white Christmas lights lining the windows and the double wooden doors, makes the crimson paint look brighter. The sound of the gravel crushing under the tyres, fills the empty night silence.

"Omg, cousin James is here." Carmody's squeal fills the car. I just sighed as I grabbed my phone opening the car door. As I got out the cold wind blow by me, it immediately caused goosebumps to appear on my arms an legs. We eventually found a bracelet that I liked and that was big enough to over my wrist tattoo. I removed all my earnings, I felt so empty without them.

I made my way to the door, right behind Carmody in her peach dress. The butler opened the door before Carmody could knock or open it herself.

"Evening Miss Wolf and Shenandoah." I never wanted the people who worked for us to direct me like I am older or anything. I was way younger than them and I honestly love my name.

"Hey Jeffrey." I fist pumped him as I entered. The decoration caught my eye first, my mom had kept to her colours, peach and pink. The grand staircase rail was covered in pink and peach roses, the huge chandelier hanging from the high roof looked elegant as ever. Many people were standing in the dinning room with wine glasses full of champaign. The low chatter filled the huge hall as butlers moved around and in between the crowds with small snacks. The main colours were prominent in the crowd, then there was me, red and black.

Every person I passed looked at me like I was crazy, maybe I am.

I spot my Mom and Dad in the distance, talking to my Grandma and Grandpa. I immediately light up, I haven't seen them for a will now, both my parents and Grandparents.

They spot me - maybe because I stick out like a sore thumb - they immediately frown at my outfit, but then replace them with huge grins.

"Happy 20th Mom and Dad." I congratulate them, while hugging them.

"Thanks honey, you look .... lovely?" Mom said it almost like a question. I just laugh and turn to my grandparents.

"Hello bun bun." Grandma says, before giving me a warm tight hug.

"Hello Grammy. I missed you." I pull away, feeling the lump forming in my throat.

"What about me, young lady?" I turn around to see my Grandpa frowning like a little kid.

"Hey Grandpa. Of couse I missed you. You are my favourite Grandpa." I hugged him, feeling like a little child again.

"Thank you for coming My Girl, it means a lot." My Dad says. I give him a reassuring smile. Spotting Carmody walking over to us with 2 guys hot on her trail.

The one is very tall, almost taller than my mom, and she is tall, he is dressed in a tux with a light pink tie. He looked gay, my opinion. He is a yellow bone black guy. Making Carmody look dark, our Mexican skin. He looks like Carmody type of guy.

Then there was the other guy, he was tall, he was wearing a black leather jacket and a white t-shir.

When they reach us Carmody snakes her arm through the first guy. We all give her a confused look, I could feel a pair of eyes on me but I shuddered it off, focusing on the confusing scene before my eyes.

"Family, this is my boyfriend Damien. And this is his brother Devaun." I look over at the guy called Devaun, his eyes were glued to mine, as I analysised his facial features. Something was shining on his right eyebrow, it looks like a ..... a .... ring?  He notices me looking at him, a smile tugs on the corner of his lips.

"Are you staring at my piercings?" His question brings me back to life.

"Technically, yes?" I questioned my own answer, he let out a little chuckle, I spot a piece of metal on his tongue and his bottom lip.

"How many piercings do you have?" My mind asks before I can think, he immediately stops laughing and looks at me deep in my eyes. His grey eyes dig deep into my soul. I want to look away, but I can't, I don't want to.

"I have four piercings, you?" He also asks, and looks like he was shocked he asked that.

"Five." He looked me over, on my face, trying to count them. After a few seconds he looked back at me with a confused expression.

"I only see four." I just smiled, lost in his eyes.

"Don't worry." He just laughed, like he was embarrassed.

"Attention everyone, can we make our way to the dining hall, to enjoy the dinner." My Mom's voice brought me back from Devaun and I's conversation.

Everyone starts moving towards the enters of the dinning hall.

"Shall we go ........?" His voice deep husky voice trailers off, waiting for my name.
"Ohh, it Shenandoah." I say shyly
