"Vanessa! Don't make me come get you!"
"Coming!"
It has been seven years since my mom left my dad.
Wait.
I didn't introduce myself. My name is obviously Vanessa. I'm an only child and I love only my mother and Robert, my teddy bear. My mother, I love her dearly. She has been through rough times, trying to get over the fact that her father, my grandfather, is the cause for her 'so called love' with her ex husband.
"Vanessa!" I quickly put on a white slightly tattered dress and white sandals. I dashed down the stairs.
"Hey mom" I sat on the brown rug where my mom was also seated.
"Honey, I have some news for you..." Dianne shifted uneasily on the rug. "Well I don't know how you are going to react but... I went to the doctor about the pain in my chest..."
"What about it mom?"
"There is a hole in my heart. And he said that I have to do surgery, I told him I didn't have the money and you know what he said? He said that if I don't, I could die" Dianne broke down in sobs.
"No. No mom, I won't allow it." I can't believe this. I can't allow my mother to go just like that. We had a rough life. After my mom and I left my father's house when I was young, we didn't have anywhere to turn. My mom's only friend had passed on, and we had no other place to turn to. We had no other choice but to occupy an old shack of a house in the village of Steepwood. It was a rather peculiar village, but I didn't mind the villagers. They were very warmhearted to my mom and I.
"Hon, I think its better if-" I had to interrupt her before she started rabbling about her past.
"Mom, no matter how many times you are gonna tell me about your past, you will always have me and Robert"
Dianne smiled weakly. "Vanessa, I already decided what I wanted. I'm going to die knowing you will always love me. And also I'll be far away from your father's harsh words that repeatedly pops in my mind."
"Mom, you can't do this... You can't leave me..."
"It's ok. You're gonna get to experience life in the right way. Not in the slump of a life like now." Dianne started to cough. Cough like never before.
"Mom! Are you ok?" I quickly pulled her hand from her mouth. Blood. "Mom no!"
It was no use. I knew no one that could help. My mom's eyes started to close.
"Mom!"
She looked at me and said something that truly tore me apart.
" I'll miss you Nessa"
