"You're going to starve if you don't eat this. Come on, you literally have nothing else to lose by eating a simple slice of ham on a slice of bread."

Of course, once you've been in prison for a while, all of the prisoners seem to find one way or another to make the awful food taste somewhat better, or at least look like it's not at least a couple weeks old. It wasn't the worst thing in the world; being in prison was sort of like a time out, but only for grown ups, and if they disrespected their 'parents', the discipline would be a good beating or a ugly punch in the face.

Now that Austin had spent a good 6 months in prison, he was getting more and more disgusted with himself, seeming that the prick that got him there was still out running about and screwing over other poor fools. He was even MORE disgusted with the food they were trying to make him eat everyday and expected him to be okay with it.

Austin glanced over at the older man who sat on the bottom bunk of the bed across of the cell they were in, and his jaw clenched as he raised an eyebrow. "Sorry Rick, but I don't plan on eating that or even anything remotely close to it." He turned his head and rested his elbow onto his knee, rubbing at his eye. Rick sighed, placing the tray of food back onto the floor and kicked it near the cell door so the guard could get it.

"I know you hate it in here, but why so reluctant today?" The man pouted, looking over the other man who looked just about done with the crap he was dealing with. Austin crossed his arms to his chest and leaned back, biting the inside of his cheek.

"I want to go, like, NOW. I don't even care if I get more time in here, I just can't stand it any longer. It isn't right, they shouldn't treat an innocent person like this." Austin bitterly spat, glaring at Rick while scratching the scruff he had grown around his cheeks. Rick snorted and shook his head, looking at Austin like he was acting childish.

"Now now, you do realize just about everyone in here claims that they are innocent?"

"Well, maybe they actually are and no one wants to listen because it creates more of a problem. They just don't want to do actual work to try and investigate anymore." Austin sighed deeply and rolled his eyes, clenching his jaw. Rick sighed and shrugged, closing his eyes and resting back onto his bed.

"I don't know what's going through your mind, but it's not like you could just start a riot and hopefully get out. Y'know, half of us in here had tried before, and some don't even live anymore to tell you that trying would be an idiot move." Rick muttered, crossing one leg over the other and situated his arms behind his head. Austin glanced at him and raised an eyebrow, before pursing his lips and looked out at the guard who casually walked past their cell.

"Maybe I COULD start a riot and escape." Austin smirked, getting up and walking to the cell bars, pressing his face against it so he could get a better looked around. He wasn't sure how he'd escape, unless he was outside and found some way to get over to barbed wire...

"LUNCH TIME!" The guard yelled, the bell ringing to alert everyone that it was lunch time. Austin sighed and waited for Rick, before both of them were let out and led down to the lunch room, where they had to wait in line for the other men who didn't eat in their cells to get their food. When Austin got a cup of water and a muffin, he headed to a table by himself like he usually did and sighed, resting his chin on his hand and drank his water.
