-The Present day-

It wasn't as quiet as it usually is. Carmen heard the murmur of other animals and heard the scurrying. Something was coming but she didn't know what. Her sibling woke up and walks into the main area of the cave and peaked out from behind the rustling vines. All of a sudden many soldiers from the nearby village went booming through the woods in search of something. The youngest crossed breed jumped back and curled up behind her mother. The mother was very protective and made sure everyone else backed away from the entrance. "Hurry, get into my room." she hissed quietly to everyone. The others nodded and went quietly into her room. Silently everyone huddled together in the back corner of the room. The family was used to this, the village people always send out guards miles out looking for us but we are pretty well hidden.

The guards eventually ran back through the woods back to the town, getting rid of everything in their way. Carmen hated how much care  they had for wild life. It must just be because they were never in it. Their swords swinging rapidly to get rid of vines and branches made Carmen sick. "How can they have such little care for something as beautiful as nature?" she said with anger and she stood up from the dusty old wooden plank floor. The others stood up and shook the dust off their tails.

"I hope they leave us alone." I hiss.

"The other actual wolf pack must have bothered them." The mother says in a clam tone.

Carmen shaked her head in frustration "It has to be something else, they would know the difference between us an the wolf pack..."
