Sollux swam further out into the sparkling blue water his feet grazing the sat beneath,he felt around for shells,sand dollars or maybe even a clam that held the pearl he dreamed of finding. "2ollux dont go any further than there okay! IIt2 really deep!" He gave out a soft sigh and obeyed his father and went back to the shore. He began walking back only to step on something, he ducked his head under the water and felt around for the object he had surely stepped on grabbing it in his small hands,he went up to the surface wiping the water from his eyes to get a clear look at it. It was a clam! He quickly rushed back to his father showing him the clam,they opened it only to see there was no pearl.
After a little while of hurrying their dad in the sand and building sand castles which the waves destroyed. They went back inside itchy but happy. After a bath and a story they went to bed waking the next morning to the piercing sounds of seagulls outside their home.
Sollux however was in a deep sleep from all of yesterday's fun and awoke to the smell of honey pancakes,he sleepily walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table where his father placed a cup of milk and a plate of pancakes for him as he listened to his brother ramble non-stop.
After breakfast he went outside opening the slide open door. "2ollux don't go iin the water ok?" "Why not?" His father kneeled down in front of him and ruffled his hair. "Becau2e II need to be out there wiith you iinca2e 2omethiing happen2." "Okay." Sollux nodded and walked down the stairs out to the beach.
He looked around for pretty shells but after a little while of searching and stepping on crushed shells making his feet red,he sat down on the rocks near the water. Something startled him splashing around in the water. It surfaced looking him in the eyes. "Hi,I'm Eridan!" The small boy in the water said flapping his tail. "Hii-uh Hii?" "Hey landwweller,are you gonna say somefin?" "You talk funny." "That's not vvery nice." "2orry." "Hey, you talk funny too!" "II wa2 born liike that." "Oh well here." He said handing him a small pearl,Sollux hesitantly took it as his fins weirded him out a bit as did his grey skin and horns. "I've been swwimmin' around here and I heard you wwere lookin' for a pearl." "Th-thank you!" "Your wwelcome." Sollux stored the pearl in his pocket and continued to chat with the strange boy. "2o ii2 you taiil real?" "Yup!" He chirped happily flapping it in the water. "2ollux!" His father called out for him. "Hey Sol before you go,don't tell anyone about me!" "Okay?" He walked toward his father holding the pearl Eridan had given him.
