My Birthday! My fifteenth birthday! I cannot believe I forgot all my birthday tomorrow. Sometimes, I think I was a goldfish in a past life.

As I walk outside, I climb up to the roof and stare at the clouds wondering what the surprise that Mrs Gormely will give to me. Mrs Gormely has always been the closest thing to a mother for me and has been the only person to give me a present for my birthday every year. Then I start to think about why I am laying down on top of a roof right now and how I got up let alone how I am going to get down.

Suddenly, a cats voice murmurs out of no where and makes me roll of the roof and onto the soft grass.

"Are you okay sweety?" asks a familiar voice

"Yes, I think I'm okay" I reply looking up as I realize that it's Mrs Gormely walking home from work.

"Ah!" she shouts noticing my cat jumping off the roof

"Quickly, stay still, I'll call the exterminators"

"No no it's okay, it's mine, his name is Prince, you can pet him if you like"

"I think i'll be right thanks, I've never been one for animals, anyway, did you get my letter?" she asks

"Yes, I did, thank-you, your the only person to give me a birthday card, as usual"

"Oh don't worry about your uncle, I'm sure this year will be different, he''ll get you a gift for sure?"

"Whatever you say Mrs Gormely,  anyway I'd better go to bed, It's getting late, I'll see you tomorrow at 9am" I replied walking back to my front door.

"Okay well you go straight to sleep, don't fall off any more rooves " She jokes as she waves goodbye

"I will, good night"

"good night my sweet"

I move back inside trying to avoid my uncle watching TV who has probably forgot about my birthday anyway.

I fall back onto my bed and grab my sketch book and pencil out from under my bed and start thinking about what I should sketch. One moment, I am lost of what to draw and the next, I am drawing some sort of map with coordinates. I don't know what has come over me, it's like something is possessing me to draw something but I have no idea what it is.

Once I am supposedly finished whatever I am doing, It looks like a map leading to an island type thing. I don't know what this is or how or why I did it, but it feels like I will need it someday... no, what am I thinking, I sound like I'm some wise old philosopher giving advice about someones destiny, wow, I never thought I would think about all those words being together in one sentence.

I rip the map out of my book, scrunch it up and throw it into the bin, turn off my lamp and pull the duvet cover over me and attempt to fall asleep, but I can't help thinking that I might have made a mistake throwing that map away.
