Gabrielle

"So you liked it there?"

"Yeah, it was pretty fun with my friends back there in Tennessee. We always had fun together." I thought back to my friends I left behind.

Currently we were in my new house while my mom was at work. Haddon was asking me about my life as a Tennessean, which I actually enjoyed. You could say it was the suburban life. I miss it too... but nothing can ever replace the family and friends I have here. Deep down, I think I really did miss this place.

"Earth to Gabrielle...." he was snapping his finger in front of my face.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just thinking... What did you do while I was gone? We were so close before I left.."

"Well, nothing too important. After my first shift when I was sixteen, I began training to be Alpha of my pack of course. Dad said that I am to be the Alpha once I graduate or something like that. I see you've been a bad ass with the piercings." He smiled, gazing down at my lips.

"You could say that. Yeah, I guess I am bad ass. I haven't seen anyone else with them at school yet. Its kind of a obsession now, you know, the pain. I loved the feeling when I got the piercings."

"They are sexy. But I'd choose tattoos over piercings any day. Its more masculine." He joked, causing me to grin widely.

"Really now?"

I got up, walking into the kitchen to scope out some food that I was in the mood for.I heard Haddon on the phone with someone shortly, but after about 30 seconds, I heard the *click* of locking the phone. Being a werewolf, I was used to eating a shitload of stuff, so I grabbed a new box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and poured the whole box into a bowl, eating it dry. I looked up after a few minutes of munching on the sweet squares to see that Haddon was staring at me.

"What?" I asked, looking back at him quizzically.

"I was just thinking about how we were before you moved away. You were right, we were super close."

I thought back to before I moved. Haddon and I were close, but you know how guys are. He was always indulged in a random girl, trying to show her off to me, I'm guessing, to make me jealous. He always came to me for 'approval' of his current toy, now look at us. Mated..

"Hey Gabi, I have to go handle some pack business, I'll see you tomorrow at school alright?"

"Okay.." I mumbled.

I walked him to the door to say our goodbyes, but instead, he slid his arm around my neck gripping the small of my neck, and proceeded to kiss my lips ever so softly. I slowly returned the passion that he pressed along my lips. Haddon started pushing me against the wall, nipping at my neck.

"We....have to stop Haddon...." I said out of breath, running my hand over his face, lifting his eyes to mine. " you have work.."

It took him a moment to recover but he did, and pecked my lips and walked to his car driving off.

This girl has my gears turning already, and it has only been a few days. Thinking of our past, as close as we were before, I wanted to get even closer now. Yeah, I've slept around with my share of girls, but I've never wanted them as bad as I want Gabrielle right now. Her soft brown skin under my fingers.... I swerved my car back into the white, blocked lines. I was completely dazed out. I drove to the pack house carefully and walked into the meeting with my dad, the present alpha, his beta, and my future beta / best friend Chance.        

"Son, sit." my father motioned at the chair smack dab in the middle of everyone.

He squinted his eyes at me, "You have found your mate haven't you?" 

I gave him the blankest look I could muster up for a moment, then I started to speak, "You kn-"

"Ah ah ah, before you lie, a little wolfy already spilled the beans."

I'm gonna beat the shit out of you... I linked to Chance, giving him a murderous stare.

Sorry, he used the alpha tone.

"Enough." he gave me a stern stare.

"Yes, Dad. I did. Today."

"Well who is the lucky girl? Is she fit to be a Luna?"

" Ummm.... it's Gabrielle?" It came out more like a question than a statement.

"Little Gabrielle from next door? Gabrielle Reed?"

"Yes sir."

His face immediately softened. I even saw a slight grin pass over his face before he returned to Alpha mode.

"Alright, well, let's get down  to business."

After a 4 hour long meeting about rogues being spotted and other pack news, I wanted to shoot myself. All I could think about the whole time was the fact that I  really have to deal with this when I become Alpha. I walked off to my car without a word, my wolf was longing for the taste of Gabi. It was almost 11:30 at night, I wonder if she was up right now. I whipped my car around and made my way to her house in 1 minute flat. I got out and locked my doors. Maybe I should've thought this through... I grabbed a couple of pebbles out of their driveway and threw them at the window I could smell her scent from. A light flicked on after a moment and Gabrielle popped her head out of the window.

"Haddon? What are you doing here?"

"I had to be near you. My... my wolf needs you." She nodded and walked downstairs, opening the back door quietly.

"My mom is asleep, so we have to be quiet, and by we, I mean your loud ass." She shut the door silently before leading us back up to her room.

"So... We're just gonna stare at each other?" she mumbled, rubbing her eyes. I knew she was tired from the dark circles that plagued her bright brown eyes.

"Not if you don't want to. Can I just lay down with you?"

She hesitated, but surrendered in the end. "Yeah, I guess.. No touching or feeling me up, okay?"

"Okay, okay." I surrendered. "But, don't you think it's a little too early to be shutting me down already?"

She sucked her teeth at me, trying to hide the smile that I knew was dancing at her lips. 

She laid down in bed, climbing under the covers. I switched off the lights in the room and crawled into the bed beside her. It's kind of hard being in the bed beside your mate, who is sexy as hell by the way, without touching, even a little. I rested my arm around her body, feeling her tense up, then relax under my arm. This would suffice...... for now.

It felt like I had less than a blink of sleep when I heard someone burst into the room.

"Gabrielle Marie Reed! Why is there a guy in your bed?!"

It was her mother. Oh boy.....
