Hi. I'm Annabeth Chase. I'm 5, nearly 6. Don't call me Annie. Or Annabell. Or even worse, Lonerbeth. Yeah, that's right, I'm usually always alone, because I'm such a know it all. Don't smack me in the face. Don't push me to the ground. 'Cause you know what? I've already faced worse than you.

I hate those stereotypes. All my classmates say, "You're just a blonde bimbo, you dumb, stupid head."

Those words play, and play, and play in my head all day long. When will anyone ever accept me? Even my parents don't. They hate me. My mom thinks I'm a freak. I wish my biological mom would come back. I wonder who she is. I bet she's much better than my fake mom.

I'm thinking you're getting bored now, I know, I know, I'm not a fun person. I've never really understood the meaning of fun, anyway. Well, I hope I'll know one day.

I'm going to school now, so I've got to keep you hidden. Or else, they'll see all my personal stuff. Nobody would want that, would they? I'm in my first year in Gateway Elementary! I'm a pretty excited. I hope I make new friends, unlike kindergarten, where my classmates would kick me when the teachers don't notice.

I'm walking through the school gates now! I immediately spot that everyone is in different groups - popular, nerds, jocks and people who don't have friends. I hope I won't be a loner for the rest of my school years here. I wish.

OH, it's time for class! Better get going - okay, I can do this - let's see....I've got English first. Not bad, not bad, except I hate reading English, it's hard.

My teacher's called Mr. Blofis. My classmates come in with their parents. It seems like all of my classmates are split into different groups, even on the first day! I see the loners group, just sticking with their parents, not saying anything. Okay - so in the loners group, there's this guy with big, round glasses on, a girl who is wearing a tutu, and has a wand in her hand, and finally a boy with very, very green eyes. He seems to be very talkative, unlike the other loners.

"Mummy, I wan't my blue pancakes for snack!" the boy with green eyes, pleaded his mom.

Blue pancakes?

"Okay, okay, as a reward for finally managing to not get expelled last year." the mom says.

Better avoid him. Although, he kind of sounds like me - I've been expelled many times too. Strange. I study the boy with green eyes' mom, she seems to fancy Mr. Blofis.

"Welcome, welcome first years and parents! I am very lucky to have all of you here! I'm sure that you'll enjoy your school life in Gateway Elementary!" Mr. Blofis announces, "To start, let's introduce ourselves to each other! Now, let's start with you...Annabeth Chase?"

I nod, "Hello, everyone, my name is Annabeth Chase. I am 5 and a half years old, and I love designing buildings and reading books. Especially books about architecture. My birthday is on July 12th. I have two brothers named Bobby and Matthew Chase, and they are most definitely very annoying, but I still love them all the same. I just moved from San Francisco to New York City, so I'm just starting to get to know this place. Thank you!"

Everyone stares at me in surprise, and I hear the girl in the tutu whisper, "Know it All," Wow, she's definitely not going to be my friend.

"Very good, Annabeth, I am surprised at your level of knowledge for a first year! I think you and I will get a long very well!" Mr. Blofis congratulated. I smiled.

"Teacher's pet!" says the boy with round glasses. Ugh, and I thought us loners could make a group of our own, like the anti-bully community, or something. I guess not.

"So, next up, Percy Jackson?" Mr. Blofis calls up, and I tip toed over the parents to see who it was - it was the boy with green eyes! Wait - why am I so surprised? Something weird is going on in me. I think I'm having some mental disorder in my frontal lobe.

"Hey guys, my name are Percy Jackson, and I like pancakes that are blue. They're deli...lucious?" the Percy boy said.

"Delicious, Percy, and it's my name is, not my name are!" his mom whispered.

"Oops, anyway, thank you," Percy thanked, and ran back to his mom.

Wow, he needs some private tutoring in his English grammatical vocabulary.

"Thank you, Percy, I'm sure you'll improve in your English!" Mr. Blofis encouraged. I noticed that Percy's hopeful, hyperactive face drooped down.

The other students introduced themselves, and the boy with round glasses and the girl with a tutu were definitely arrogant and surely, they're going to be bullies, so I better watch out. After the introducing we did a bit of reading, and I was having a lot of trouble with it. But, it didn't really matter, Mr. Blofis helped me alot, and so did he help Percy too. I really like Mr. Blofis, he's the best teacher I've ever had.

It was lunch time! Finally! I was hungry. Okay, so today's menu is....enchiladas! I guess enchiladas are okay, but there was this guy, who ran very limply, but he looked so excited, that he looked like a goat trying to get food....where did I even get that simile? Oh well. I saw Percy run up to the enchilada boy, and they fist bumped, and hugged.

"Grover!" Percy shouted, "Hey G-man!"

"Percy!!" Grover exclaimed, "Hi! I wish we were in the same class!"

"I right, know?" Percy agreed.

"You mean, I know, right, right?" Grover corrected, slapping his forehead.

"Yeah..." Percy said, "I wish I was better at English..."

Grover, patted him on the back, and assured him that he will, and that he also had problems with English, too.

I looked around, and I saw that I was alone. Again.
