Grover the Enchilada Guy

I peeked outside the living room - it was....oh yeah! It was the guy I saw on Enchilada Friday! His name is...um -

"Grover!" Percy shouted, happily, and hugged Grover.

"Peeerrcy!" Grover bleated, well it seemed like a bleat, to me. Why do I keep on thinking about goats when I see Grover?

Grover turned and saw me, and shaked my hand, "Hi, I'm Grover, what's your name?"

He seemed like a really trustworthy person, although he continuously reminds me of a goat, for some reason, "Hey, I'm Annabeth! Are you Percy's friend?"

"Best friends!" Grover giggled, and Percy and Grover fist bumped.

I smiled, and I felt happy for Percy. He's so lucky to have a friend like Grover. And I'm relieved that Grover isn't those judgmental, and bully-like types! Well, judging from his curly ginger hair, and his kind, brown eyes, he doesn't seem bully-like at all.

"Annabeth's a great friend, Grover, I told her about the You-Know-What," Percy said, lowering his voice. I noticed that his voice cracked a bit, when he said You-Know-What.

Grover nodded grimly, and studied me. I felt him look deep in my eyes, and I felt insecure, so I turned away. Grover stopped studying me, and I relaxed. How does he do that with his eyes?

"Yeah, okay! She's trustworthy!" Grover nodded, and smiled.

I was confused. How did he know that I was trustworthy, just by looking at my eyes? Is he a mind reader? Nah, that's impossible, mind reading can't be real, well according to Page 361 of Into the Depths of the Mind, by Gilderoy Lockhart. I can't really trust Lockhart, though, most of his information about architecture is  untrue!

I heard Grover chuckle, "I can see that you're confused about how I can see whether you're lying or not! Well, when I was born, I had this rare case of...uh, Emotionatobis. It allows me to read people's emotions,"

I heard him stutter between his words, and I was wondering if he was telling the truth or not.

"So, you guys wanna watch a movie?" Percy asked, grabbing a carrot stick from a bowl. He munched a bit off.

"Sure, what movies do you have?" Grover said, as we walked over to the shelf of DVDs.

"Um, Star Wars, The Avengers, X-Men, Spiderman, Superman, uh, Roman Holi-"

"YES! LET'S WATCH THAT ONE!" I shouted. I covered my mouth. Annabeth, just be quiet for once!

Percy and Grover stared at me, as if I was crazy. Then Percy cracked up, and so did Grover, and they both burst into laughter. I laughed a long with them, clutching my stomach. I've never had such a good laugh in such a long time!

"A-A-Annabeth, why do you like that mo-ovie so-o much?" Grover asked, between his laughs.

"I-I used to watch it with my-y dad! And I loved it!" I replied, trying to calm myself down.

"We-ell, it sure sounds good," Percy said, taking deep breaths. After a few more chuckles and giggles, everyone calmed down.

"Having a good laugh, kids?" Sally called from the kitchen.

"Yes, mom!" Percy yelled back, grinning, "So, what movie you wanna watch?"

"Um, The Avengers?" Grover suggested.

"Yeah, okay! I'd rather not watch Roman Holiday, I've watched it too many times! Although I really like Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, they're good actors," I said, while Percy and Grover laughed.

"Okay, so Avengers, then!" Percy said, and slid the disk into the DVD player.

We sat on the couch, and the movie began. And I had to admit, the movie was really, really good! I loved Black Widow the best. I wish I could be like her, and be able to do those judo-flips. I found my self doing little kicks and flicks with my feet during the movie. When the big fight started, the three of us started making whooshing and gun sounds, and we made the sofa bounce like crazy! At the end of the movie, there was a moment's silence.

"Woah," I said, breaking the silence, "That was awesome!"

"Told ya it was good!" Percy said, standing up and taking out the DVD disk out of the player.

"I love Iron Man, although I wish there was a hero that was more into nature, 'cause I feel like Earth needs more protection." Grover said, stretching from the couch.

"So what do ya guys wanna do now?" Percy asked.

Before either Grover or I could answer Percy, Sally came out of the kitchen holding two trays with her baking mittens on.

"Blue Time!" Sally sang, laying the cookies on two plates, and serving it to them, "And Grover, your special - Blue Enchiladas, 'cause you're Vegetarian, of course,"

"YAY THANK YOU SALLY!" we all shouted, and we gave her big hug. We munched on our cookies and Enchiladas, and we spent the rest of the day cloud watching on Percy's bed.

"That one looks a bit like Mr. Blofis," Percy giggled, pointing at a cloud that was shaped like a human head.

"Oh yeah!" I said, agreeing, "And that one looks like an owl, reading a book,"

"True!" Grover laughed, and pointed at a cloud that floated almost behind a building, "And that one looks like a panpipe,"

"Oh, wait!" Percy gasped, "That one looks like a fork, but it has sea like wavy stuff around it!"

We all laughed, and rested on Percy's bed, relaxed. We stared at the clouds, just the three of us, in silence. I spotted a cloud that looked very, very peculiar. At the corners of my eyes, I saw Percy and Grover staring at the same cloud too.

I gasped, my eyes widening.

"Guys, it's us! It has to be us! It's us with people who look like Hazel and Frank, and a girl with choppy hair, a boy which looks like he has blonde hair, because of the sunlight, a elf like boy with a hammer in his hand, a really skinny boy that seems to have shadow-like rain clouds around him, and a guy that looks like he's half-man and half...goat?"

I noticed that Grover winced at the word half-goat, but I didn't really find it important. All I found important was the strange cloud in the sky that seemed to be floating away from us. That cloud had to mean something. It should be shaped like that for a reason. What could it be?

I thought for a little longer.

Was it our fate?

Destiny?

Nah, I'm thinking too deeply. It should be just a coincidence.

I squinted at the cloud even more, and I felt like the cloud was calling to me, telling me they're not the right answers.

Finally, I got an idea in my head that I thought I would've never thought of:

"Our future?"
