By now Hermione and Draco had been hanging out for a couple weeks. It was as if they never hated eachother.
"I bet you are wondering why I asked you here,"started McGonagall.
"We are having a Halloween Ball this year. And as head boy and head girl, you will direct the prefects on how to set it up. That's all."
Then they left for class. Hermione was hoping Draco would ask her.
At lunch McGonagall announced about the ball everyone was so excited.
Draco was thinking of ways he could ask Hermione to go to the ball with him.
"Hey, Mione, will you go to the ball with me." Ron said.
"One, Ronald, I already told you, I don't like you like that. And two, I'm mad at you."Hermione said.
"Why have you two not been talking." Harry asked.
He was wondering why. But, Ron didn't want to tell him.
"He hit me." Hermione accused.
"Don't lie, Hermione. That wasn't funny." Harry laughed.
"I think she's serious." Ginny piped in when she saw the look on Hermione's face.
"You did what!" Harry yelled at Ronald.
"She's a traitor, she's hanging out with Malfoy. Malfoy!" Ron yelled.
"Hermione's like a sister to me. How dare you hit her." Harry said then walked out with Ginny hot on his heels.
Hermione stormed out and Draco followed.
Hermione found am empty class and started crying. Great, now her friends are fighting.
Draco ran into the classroom.
He was worried as soon as he saw her crying.
He felt that pain in his heart, he realized something.
He fell in love, with Hermione Jean Granger.
He ran over and hugged her. He played with her curls whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
Once she calmed down he wiped the tears away.
"Thank you." Hermione whispered.
The rest of the day went by fast. They acted as if nothing ever happened.
Hermione was back to her happy self, smiling that smile Draco loved.
"Let's do our homework near the black lake." Hermione suggested.
So, they grabbed their stuff.
Once they were out of the castle Hermione yelled "Let's race," then took off.
Draco of course beat her.
"Hmph. Fine you won. Whatever." she said.
They sat down in the grass.
They studied for awhile then started fooling.
Hermione, of course, enjoyed Draco's company; him the same for her.
"Tag you're it" Hermione said, like a child.
Draco chased her around until he caught her around the waist.
"Gotcha!" Draco exclaimed amusedly.
Then Draco started running, Hermione hot on his heels.
Hermione tripped on a stump and was about to fall when Draco, once again, saved her.
She opened her eyes and saw his silver pools staring into her doe-like eyes. They stared at each other for a long time.
"Thank you." Hermione whispered.
"No problem. Anytime." Draco said with a smile that melted Hermione's heart.
Then they walked back to the castle because it was getting late.
Hermione dreamed about Draco that night. She had fallen, and fallen hard.

A/n: sorry it's short.
