Hermione woke up and felt extremely happy for no reason. Her room was painted blue, and on the wall there was a big Gryffindor crest. Same for Draco, except Slytherin.
Hermione hoped she could avoid Draco.
She got dressed and went downstairs to the Common Room. She was wearing a uniform and mascara. She likes to keep makeup to a minimum.
Unfortunately, Draco was down there.
"Hey Granger."
Hermione's heart rate picked up.
"Hi."
"I just want to let you know I've changed. I am not an egotistical prat anymore. I'm truly sorry."
"I a-accept your as apology." she said.
Draco was mentally celebrating.
"Oh, and can I call you Hermione. You can call me by my first name."
"Sure...Draco." she said.
She was a bit less nervous now. She decided she won't avoid him. She should at least be friends with him.
Then he asked the obvious, " Can we be friends?"
He was very hopeful, he would be one step closer.
Before she knew what she was doing she ran over and hugged him.
"Of course."she said.
Then she realized what she did and turned deep red. Draco was so happy, she hugged him!
Then they walked down to breakfast- together.
When they got there they waved then went to their respectable house table.
"What were you doing with him." Ron asked.
"He's head boy. And he apologized." Hermione said getting angry.
She knew, even though she would not care to admit it, she was standing up for him because she has a crush on him.
"You. Are. Taking. His. Side." Ron said through gritted teeth. Ron was jelly.
Harry and Ginny were not there yet. They were probably off somewhere snogging.
"Yes. Now, forgive and forget, Ronald." she yelled- a bit louder than she intended to.
Then she put her bag on her shoulder and ran out of the great hall.
Draco ran after her. He found her in their common room. They still had thirty minutes left until class.
"Hermione, you okay?" Draco asked.
Hermione was crying. She knew it was silly but she didn't like Ron being mad at her.
He ran over and hugged her to his chest. She cried for about fifteen minutes.
When she pulled herself together she put her head down and said "sorry."
Draco pulled her chin up so he was looking into her brown eyes that melted his heart.
"There is nothing to apologize for. Infact, I'm sorry. That was about me wasn't it. I know you don't like your friends mad at you."
"Well, the git doesn't see you've changed, so don't apologize." Hermione said then smiled.
"I grabbed your schedule. We have the same exact schedule. Potions first." Draco stated trying to hide a big goofy grin. He was so happy.
So, Hermione grabbed her stuff and they left for potions.
Hermione didn't want to sit with Ron, but with Draco.
They were partnered to make felix felicis.
While working close to him, she noticed he smelled strongly of spearmint. Huh, that's....cool? she thought.
The whole day they sat next to each other.
To Hermione's disappointment, it was Friday. So, no classes tomorrow.
At dinner they went their separate ways.
"Why were you with him." Harry said.
"Oh. My. God. Not you, too. He's my friend now. He changed and apologized."she explained.
"If you're cool with it, then I am Mione." Harry said.
"Thank you." Hermione said gratefully.
Hermione ate then got back to the common room. Draco entered a few minutes later.
"Hey, Hermione. I'm bored. Can we play twenty questions."
"Sure."
"Okay, umm... favourite subject." Draco said.
"Charms."
And so this went on until Hermione fell asleep.
Draco picked her up and carried her to her room. Then, he put the covers on her.
He ran to he room. He came back with a muggle picture thing. He bought it over the summer.
He took a picture of her. She looked so peaceful. Like Voldemort has never even crossed her mind.
Next, he got ready for bed and then went to sleep.
