Chapter 21

Epilogue, June 14th, 2007, 1:54pm

It's finally graduation day! I can't believe it! At first, i thought i wouldn't graduate since i had missed a bunch of days of school. But i somehow made up for all those days.

I sat in the first row next to Stacy, waiting to hear my name be called so i could shake the principal's hand and get my diploma.

"Lola Taye Stewart," said Ms. Jade, the principal.

I got up and walked on the stage. Everyone clapped for me. I could see my dad cheering for me, along with Johnny.

I shook her hand and she handed me my diploma.

"Congratulations, Lola. I'm very proud of you," she said. I flashed her a smile and sat back down.

After she finished calling the names, she had all of us stand up.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let us say congratulations to the class of 2007!" she said, "you may throw your hats!"

We all threw them up in the air. Hats rained back down everywhere. I laughed and hugged Stacy.

After the ceremony...

"Hey Stacy, want to come over and have dinner?" i asked.

"Sure. I'll ask my mom to take me to your house," she replied.

"We're not having dinner at my house. We're having it at Johnny's house," i said.

"Oh my god, are you serious?! I can't believe i'm about to go inside of Johnny Depp's house! Pinch me, i must be dreaming!" she said.

I pinched her.

"Ow!" she cried.

"You're not dreaming," i said.

"Lola!" called my dad. He ran to me. Johnny was trailing behind him.

"I-Is that really Johnny Depp?" she asked.

"Shocking, isn't it?" i said.

My dad hugged me tightly.

"Oh sweetie, i'm so proud of you! It's as if just yesterday you were taking your first steps" he said.

"Alright dad, i get it. You're excited. You can let go now," i said with a giggle.

He let go and wiped a tear from his eye. Johnny hugged me.

"Congratulations, dear," he said. We kissed and he let go. I noticed Stacy wasn't moving or blinking. It was as if she was in a trance.

"Stacy? Snap out of it," i said snapping my fingers in front of her eyes. She snapped out of it.

"What?" she asked.

"Stacy, i want you to meet my friend, Johnny. Johnny, this is Stacy. She's my best friend.

"Nice to meet you Stacy," he said. He shook her hand. She shook back lightly.

"H-hi. I'm such a b-big f-fan," she said. Her eyes were so wide. I laughed at her.

"Come on, let's go," said my dad.

At Johnny's house...

As we ate, we talked about our plans for the future. I'm not sure what i want to do yet. Neither is Stacy.

"So Johnny, where is Dewey?" asked my dad.

"He moved to New York to be with his mom," said Johnny.

"You don't say?" said my dad.

"Yeah. Apparently, he searched for his mom online and found her. Turns out, she's been looking for him too," said Johnny.

"So it's just you here alone now?" i asked.

"Yeah. Hopefully not for too long," he said. He winked at me. I smiled.

After dinner, me and Stacy decided we wanted to go bowling. Just us. And this time, we would both pay.

"You ready?" asked Stacy as she got into her car.

I opened my door but didn't get in.

"Hold on. I have to do something," i said. I walked back to the front door of Johnny's house where he and my dad were talking. I ran into Johnny's arms.

"Bye Johnny. I love you," i said. He pecked me on the lips.

"See you later, love," he whispered into my ear.

We hugged for a little longer.

"Alright, i think that's enough," said my dad.

We both ignored him.

"5...4...3...2...1.." said my dad. I knew when he counted down, he was serious.

We let go of each other.

"Thank you," he said, "have fun Lola."

I ran back to Stacy's car and got in.

"You two are too cute," she said.

"Oh shut up Stacy," i said playfully.

She started the car and we drove off to the bowling alley.
