One Year Later

The day was here. My frazzled nerves were making me jittery as I paced around the room. It was no wonder that Val was pacing on her own wedding day! Tessa and Valerie were attempting to comfort me as Sammi was unpacking all of her makeup to get everything ready. Did Andy really want to marry me? I mean did he just feel bad for me and that was why he was doing this? Was I just a basket case to him? Did he seriously even love me for me?

Hissing I paced around the room even faster when Tessa hurled me into a chair and Valerie handed me a glass of champagne. Taking big gulps I put that first glass away and was reaching for the bottle when Tessa took it away from me, “Oh no sweetheart, I’m not about to have you drunk on your wedding day!” She shot a smirk, “That’s what the wedding night is for.”

“Tessa!”

She laughed, “Oh come on sister darling! You know I’m just kidding you! I want you to be laughing, not biting your lip and worrying yourself to death.”

“Tessa I’m worried! I mean what if Andy runs out on me?”

“Senna… out of everything I’ve ever heard you say… that was the stupidest thing in the history of stupid. I mean I love you more than you know but seriously you’re a dumbass. Andy loves you more than you know and if you don’t believe me then why are you even here?”

“I love Andy like you will never know! He is by far the greatest guy I’ve ever met and I could never not love him! Without him there wouldn’t be much left in the world for me to enjoy.”

“Then stop worrying. Andy loves you just as much as you love him and you’re crazy if you think that he’s going to run out on you. Sweetie it’s just like what you told me when I was marrying Chance, he loves me and is probably thinking that you might run out on him.” Valerie cut in.

“I’d never!”

“Good, then get in that dress and let’s get on with this wedding!”

Slipping into my dress I sat down as Valerie did my hair and Sammi did my makeup. Tessa was busy with Liz as the two made their way out of the room to go somewhere. Closing the eye that Sammi instructed I waited for her to finish with that one before closing the other.

As Sammi was putting the finishing touches on my makeup I heard a knock on my door. Sammi opened it up and allowed our visitor through. Flicking my eyes over I saw Chance making his way over to where Valerie and I were. A big smile was on his face while his eyes were slightly glassy. I knew that he had always known this day would come but was a bit skeptical of it really happening to his best friend and adopted little sister.

“Hey there, how goes everything?” He asked.

Val put down her curler, “Good, now all I have to do is attach her veil.”

“Cool so then afterwards we’re good to start the walk down the aisle?”

It was decided that Chance would be the one walking me down the aisle because my parents decided to not show up for the wedding. As much as it hurt to know that they didn’t approve of it I couldn’t care all that much at the moment. As far as I was concerned if they didn’t want to have any part of my life then they weren’t going to be bothered by me.

“Yup, just give me a moment to get it.”

As Val went to go and get the veil Chance gave me a big hug, “I’m so happy for you two, god… still the thought of my best friend deflowering you… it really rubs me the wrong way…”
