~Leight's POV~

I waved my hand wildly as a taxi began to pass by. The driver pushed on the brakes slowly and the taxi gradually came to a stop on the curb in front of us. As I started to grab our bags, I heard Victoria giggle, making me look up at her with a confused smirk. "What?"

"You do realize you don't have to wave your hand like that to get a taxi, right?" She laughed. "You look like a real idiot when you do that."

I make a face at her and continue gathering our bags. "Whatever, Vic," I said, "You're the one th-"

I stopped abrutly when I turned and saw a man suddenly hi-jacking the taxi I'd just hauled for us. "Hey!" I yelled, trying to run up to it as the guy closed the door. Before I could make it to the door, the cab drove off, leaving me and Vic standing there with our luggage. I growled in anger, watching them leave, and Vic sighed. "Told you Miami was a shithole."

At least half an hour passed before we were able to get another taxi and finally make our way to Vic's parents' house. As we stepped out of the cab, I looked up at Vic's parents' enormous estate. The house was a large two story home with a soft brown paint job and pure white shutters. The columns that lined the white porch railing gave it an elegant feel. "Honestly, the more I see this place, the more amazed I am."

"You've only seen this place, like, twice," Vic said, busy grabbing our bags out of the trunk of the taxi, the driver helping her.

"Well, it's still incredible nonetheless."

"What's incredible is that you're not helping us with these bags!"

I smiled and took one of the suitcases Vic had taken out of the trunk. After taking all our bags out and paying the driver, we sauntered up to the porch, heaving the bags up the porch steps and rang the doorbell. There was a long pause and the door finally opened for us to find Vic's younger brother standing in the doorway.

"Hey baby bro!" Vic exclaimed with a smile. "How's my favorite kid brother been?"

"Considering that I'm your only kid brother, I don't really know how to answer that," he answered smartly.

"Oh, shut up and give me a hug." Vic put down her bags and hugged him.

He smiled and hugged her back. "Hey, sis."

After they released each other, I smiled and waved at him. "Sup' Alex? Long time, no see."

"Oh hi... Rebecca?" He said giving me a hopeful yet apologetic smile.

"Oh! So close, not really. The name's Leight, silly."

He laughed a little and moved out of the doorway to let us through. "Well if you were more memorable I would've remembered."

I glared at him as we passed and stuck my tongue out at him. "Don't get smart with me, you little runt."

"That's enough, you two," Vic said laughing. We walked through the foyer into the beautiful living room, Vic and I setting our bags down by the crisp white sofa.

"Where's dad, and.. HER?" Vic asked Alex as I looked around the room. The walls were the same color as the outside of the house with an eggshell white lining the bottom half. There were two sofas, one long and the other short with a love seat sitting across from the two, all of them white and sitting atop a light brown rug that spread across the white carpet. The long sofa sat a little ways in front of the back wall, a window hanging over it, letting in sunlight through its white curtains. A cased shelf full of fine china sat between the long and the short sofa, a glass coffee table sitting in the center of it all. A mini chandelier, which seemed like the baby version of the huge one that hung in the foyer, shone above us in stunning magnificence.

"They're in the dining room, talking to some g-" Alex started but was cut off by a sound of true evil.

"Well if it isn't little Victoria! And... her friend!"

I snarled at the sound of Victoria's stepmom's voice, slowly turning toward her. "The witch..." I mumbled before plastering on a fake smile.
