In Love With My Nightmare

Chapter 5

Erica's POV:
Okay so I get Eric didn't want to hang out with us last night, I mean I only went over cause I knew 1) he wasn't home yet and 2) it would piss him off to see me there when he got home. But like for real? He stormed into his room like a little kid? I didn't like him but I'm still adult enough to be able to sit in the same room with him without being a total asshole about it.

God he was so different when we were younger, but my 11th birthday was the end of it, I don't know how HE remembers that day but I'm sure he had a very different opinion. So he and I were friends since we were 5, his family and mine both had just moved in and they had us going over for play dates, and we just kinda stayed friends. But oh god, the day of my 11th birthday was terrible.
*FlashBack*
I sat there waiting for my cake, my family and Eric all stood around as well as my mom brought out the cake, they sang to me and I blew out my candles, I was such an idiot back then, my wish was actually that Eric would fall in love with me! (I know I was hopeless right?)

So my mom starts cutting the cake and handing them out when I suddenly hear Eric shout out "ATTACK!" And he threw a piece of cake at me. Now while this may seem like a harmless joke, my parents had bought me a brand new dress, it was roughly 115$ from what I remember but it was all I really wanted and I got it, and I was trying it on and showing everyone when he did that, I got hit in the face by the cake and out of shock couldn't stop myself from falling, accidentally pulling the table cloth off the table and a glass of red wine spilled all over my dress.
