This chapter has been requested by so many people through PM and one through comment, so of course I decided to make this chapter. I am going to be saying mom assuming you are asking your mother to use tampons, not your father (or legal guardian/s.) I will tell you several ways to approach the subject and ways to ask. I will put the best tampons for beginners at the bottom. So, let's begin.
I suggest that you bring it up in casual conversation rather than blurting out that you want to use tampons as you guys sit awkwardly in silence on the way to McDonalds. One way you could go about asking is while you are on your way to the store, a simple "Hey mom, can we get tampons? I really want to try them out." should do it. You could also bring it up while you are near the feminine products aisle, or while you are picking feminine products up. If you are uncomfortable with communication you could always leave a note on the grocery list, or send her a text like I said in the chapter about telling your mom you got your period.
If she says no then I really don't suggest repeatedly bugging her about it or whining, that usually makes the chances of her saying yes even slimmer. You should probably wait a while before coming back to the topic. When you do try again make sure you are prepared and ready this time, have a few reasons why you want to use tampons and how they would benefit you. If she's concerned that you shouldn't use tampons until a certain age or until after sex, you can tell her that tampons don't make you lose your virginity and that you feel mature and ready enough to use tampons. Make sure to not have a whiny tone while asking or presenting your reasons because that makes a big difference. Make sure to wait a while before you ask again. If she says no is her final answer then I'm sorry but I have to say, you probably shouldn't go against her wishes.
