In this chapter I will be telling you the different sizes, absorbency's, flows, and types of pads and tampons.

Pad Absorbency Levels/ Flow Levels:
Light- Light pads are good for when your period is just finishing up and trickling off or light days.
Regular- Regular pads are for average, regular flow.
Heavy- Heavy pads clearly are best for heavy flow, and they can sometimes be used as overnight pads.
Pad Types/ Styles:
*With Wings- Wings two small pieces of fabric that are sticky that wrap underneath your underwear to hold the pad in place.
*Without Wings- Pads that don't have wings are easier to put on and take off but they shift around a lot more so they are definitely not good for people that are really active.
*Scented Pads- Some pads can come with the option of unscented or scented. I have never had this issue, but the chemicals can irritate you and give you a rash or infections.
Maxi- Pads- Maxi- Pads are called Maxi- Pads because the maxi stands for maximum coverage. These pads are longer than the average pad, but they (usually) aren't as long as an overnight. These pads are also much thicker too.
Overnight Pads- Overnight pads are pads that are way longer than even a Maxi- Pad. They go from the very front of your underwear to the very back. They are thicker as well. Unlike the name says they don't only have to be worn overnight. They can be used for heavy flow as well.
Cloth Pads- Cloth pads are not like the usual pad. Most pads are disposables, pads that you throw away after one use. But with a cloth pad you simply wash the pad and use it again.
* Pads or tampons with this symbol means that they can be used on any pad or tampon style. Ex: Overnight pads can come with or without wings, same with Maxi- Pads.

Tampon Absorbency Levels/ Flow Levels:
Lite- Lite tampons are for really light flow.
Regular- Regular tampons are for average to slightly above average flow.
Super- A super tampon is like a heavy pad, it's meant for heavy flow.
Super Plus- A super plus tampon is like an overnight pad, it's meant for really heavy flow.
Ultra- An ultra tampon is like a Maxi- Pad, it's meant for extremely heavy flow.
Super Jumbo Plus- A super jumbo plus tampon is extremely rare, and if your flow is this heavy I suggest you see a doctor.
Tampon Types/ Styles:
*Plastic Applicator- Plastic applicator tampons come with sleek, easy to insert, plastic applicators.
*Cardboard Applicator- Cardboard applicators are more difficult to deal with than plastic because they don't glide in as smooth, and they fall apart really easy, but they are a lot more Eco- friendly than plastic applicators.
*Scented Tampons- Some tampons come with the option of unscented or scented. I have never had this issue, but the chemicals can irritate you and give you a rash or infections.
Slim/ Sleek Tampons- Tampons that are called "Sleek" or "Slim" are designed to have a slimmer, smaller barrel. They sometimes are called "Junior Tampons" because they are designed slimmer for younger girls just starting to use tampons, because of their smaller bodies.
Athletic/ Sport Tampons- Athletic tampons not only are slimmer in the barrel and in size, but they usually expand differently to mold to your body so you are comfortable while playing sports.
No Applicator Tampons- This may sound gross, but no applicator tampons are tampons that come in a box without an applicator that you insert using your finger.
* Pads or tampons with this symbol means that they can be used on any pad or tampon style. Ex: Overnight pads can come with or without wings, same with Maxi- Pads.
