A few days after Andrea shot at Daryl, Carl was finally up on his feet. Lori had taken him and Blake out to do some work around the farm for the Greene family and feed the livestock so more produce would be created.

Daryl was still recovering, but he had decided to move back into his tent, despite his daughter's protests. And she hadn't left his side for a second.

Carl, Lori, and Blake were at the chicken coop feeding the chicken's since they didn't have anything else to do.

Carl smiled at the older boy, as he returned the smile, and he returned to feed more of the baby chicks that came to Blake, which was only one.

The baby chicken was cute and also unique since its left wing was brown while its whole body was yellow. Blake liked it.

"Don't look so worried." Carl said looking towards his mother seeing she was staring at him.

"It's my job." She shrugged.

"No, it's not. You're a housewife." Carl said while Lori's mouth opened in shock, while Blake laughed in amusement at that response.

"Yeah, punk?" She asked with a smile and threw chicken food at him making him laughed a bit. "You see my house around here? A housewife."

Blake looked around the coop seeing there was no main chicken. "They don't have a mother." He sadly said.

"She might be somewhere else." Lori said while cleaning her nails and Carl looked over to her.

"Maybe she got eaten. Everything is food for something else." Carl told them and Blake noticed the fear in Lori's eyes as her son said that.

After Andrea left the Dixon's tent, not before receiving from the girl a cold glare, Athena left too. She wanted her father to rest in peace and as she walked out she saw Shane leading Carl towards his mother.

Shane said something to the woman, and her face fall and she looked towards her son with disappointment.

Athena furrowed her brows in confusion 'Had he done something wrong?'

The girl joined the group, crossing her arms, glancing at Leo "What's going on?"

Leo let out a breath, "Carl grabbed hold of a gun for himself."

Athena looked at the boy in disbelief, when their eyes met he looked down straight away. Like a sad puppy who'd just been scolded. Probably because he had been.

"He asked me to teach him how to shoot. Now it's none of my business, but i'm happy to do it. It's your call." Shane offered.

'Ah, so that's what this is about. Carl wants to learn to shoot a gun.'

If Athena was completely honest she couldn't blame the boy. Carl needed to know how to protect himself. With how the world it is now, he didn't need know math or science, he needed to know how to survive.
