To plot or not to plot, that is the question.
Whether tis easier in the pen to suffer the sling and arrows of outrageous outlines
Or to take arms against a sea of unplotted troubles.
Kalliliam Losspeare, people. *takes a bow*
But seriously, plotting is something that can either make writing super easy (haha no) or super hard. Some authors prefer outlines on their characters, where their story is going (I happen to be one of those people). Others... not so much. Not saying that there is anything wrong with not plotting, nothing at all. Some authors prefer not to be confined to the premise of a story outline and to write their story on the seat of their pants. Honestly, it just depends on what better supports your writing. I use to not make outlines, refused to. But then a I did for a small, insignificant short story and it just flew by so much quicker and sounded so much more put together.
There's not much else to say. Your preference fits your style.
So stop worrying that you don't have an outline. You may find you don't need it.
And a lot of writer discouragement comes from not knowing where you're story is going, as well, and it's sometimes best to try and plot the rest out if this occurs.
So just write.
You know that's what you're supposed to be doing right now...
