Hannah, hey it’s me. Do you remember?”
Yes, I remembered everything. I remembered that late night in May. Where the cries shouted out my name, where I was curled up in a corner, where waterfalls streamed down my face and when my life was turned upside down. I wanted to know how I would forget it. It was just too much to bear.
“I’m sorry but you’ve got the wrong number.”
“Hannah, you don’t need to do this. Give me what I want and I’ll keep your secret.”
“I told you, I’m not Hannah.”
“Okay, I don’t think she would mind her secret going out, right?”
“I’ll speak to her, bye.”
“She has 48 hours to think about it. 48 hours.”
That’s when the conversation was ended. I gave the phone back to Stella, I told them I needed some time to think, they were desperate to know what was going on but I couldn’t say anything. They could see pain, fuming pain in my eyes. I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t Hannah, I wasn’t that girl, but I was different now. I was broken and no one could take my pieces and put it together. I know it’s my fault, but how long is it going be my fault? I grabbed my clutch and decided to go for a walk, I needed to take my mind off things.
I kept on foot down the endless, depressing path. I went on and on while the moments came, drowning me in them. I stared at my phone; it was 10:23 PM. I kept saying the words “10:23, 10:23, 10:23.” I was going utterly insane. Finally, my heels started killing me but I kept walking. I kept washing the pain away. I was strong enough to deal with it. I kept going and going but I stopped. I looked back at the path; I was about 20 blocks away. I felt someone walking towards me and that’s when I fell on the ground helplessly.
“Hannah! Hannah! Wake up, please. No! Hannah!”
I could hear someone screaming my name, I didn’t know who it was, they seemed worry but I was in a happy world of my own, I never felt so relieved.
“Hello, you guys bring a car. She has fainted! I’m 18 blocks away from the house. No! Just bring the car.”
I could hear someone but I couldn’t think of who it was and I couldn’t reply. I felt powerless because I couldn’t do anything.
Luke’s P.O.V
I was looking out of the window on the upper floor; everyone had left except for Dylan. While staring outside and noticing everyone leaving, I found a figure in the shadows. She was going far away and she was rushing as if something was after her. I couldn’t tell who it was but I knew she didn’t seem okay. I grabbed my leather jacket and I was out of the house. I told Dylan that I had to run some errands and I would be back soon. He agreed and I bolted out.
She kept walking but the further she walked, the slower she got. She never turned once and she didn’t seem to have a destination. I slowly walked behind her, trying to be unnoticeable. Then she stopped, she stared to her back, and gave this long, intense stare and glanced at me. She looked very familiar but it was dark so I wasn’t sure who it was. She took her heels off and fell to the ground. I ran after her to find that it was Hannah.
*End of POV*
I woke up in a room that was unfamiliar to me. I got up, there was no one in the room, and I was terrified. I thought, just for a second, I was kidnapped. I took my clutch and turned my phone on, it was 11:38. It was almost midnight, I needed to be home by 1:00 AM or I would be killed. I looked in the mirror to find my dress shredded across my knees. My parents were going to kill me but that was the least of my problems. Just when I was about to step out of the room, a young-looking women, about 17 years old entered the room.
