By the time I stepped into school, I found a group of friends. I hugged them all and we complimented each other on how much we changed, but in a good way of course. I turned around to see a figure. It was coming towards us and my heart was about to melt that very second, he passed by us and flashed a smile. He was my crush, Dylan, but no one knows except for one person. Dylan had eyes of honey, which were like ocean depths, and you would find yourself drowned in them. He had dark hair that he’d brush up, his was a bit tanner than I was and his smile was to die for. After catching up with them, I went looking for the group; I couldn’t find them anywhere until I bumped into Veronica.
“Hannah, my love! How are you? I missed you so much!”
“I’m great! How are you, Veronica?”
“I could be better, btw! Your hair color! It looks good on you!”
“Aw, thank you. How was Paris?”
“It was good. How was NYC?”
“Busy as always. Um, Veronica can I ask you something?”
“Sure, we’re great friends you can ask me anything!”
“What did you send Emily? Like a DM? I’m confused.”
“I have no idea, are you sure? I don’t remember sending her anything, I love Emily!”
“Haha, she’s amazing! I’ll see you around. I got to catch up with some people.”
I looked everywhere for them but I just couldn’t find them anywhere. I found several other friends and talked with them but I couldn’t find my five best friends, I started over-thinking until I bumped into someone. I fell on the ground but thankfully I wasn’t bruised. The tall figure was Luke. He was tall, tanned, he had hazel eyes that had an uncertain spark to them and of course, he was known for his messy hair that somehow never looked ‘messy’. He helped collect my books and apologized about 500 times, he also made some small talk. By the time I was done talking, I found my five friends staring at me. There stood Amy, Jennifer, Emily, Stella and Carly. I ran up to them all and we had a group hug, it felt amazing to be back after looking for them for 20 minutes. And then they started it all over again.
Amy: Hannah, omg, omg. You look different but the same.
Jennifer: I love it; your new hair color brings out your eyes.
Emily: It does! I missed you so much its unbelievable.
Jennifer: We all missed you! We were looking for you! I thought you ditched us like usual.
Stella If she did, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Me: Ditching is my thing. It just comes naturally.
Carly: You guys! Enough with the ditching! So, Hannah, Luke likes you!
Me: Ugh, no he doesn’t and I don’t like him so it doesn’t matter.
Stella: It was obvious that he bumped into you on purpose. Right girls?
Jennifer: Hannah, its so obvious and you’re such a player.
Amy: She is seriously the biggest player ever.
Me: I’m not a player; you just ship me with a lot of people, that’s all.
Carly: Haha. The bells going to ring, we better go to the auditorium.
It was true though. They all shipped me with a lot of people, whether from our grade or older, they thought I’d look cute with someone or that they liked me, it was annoying because I don’t like any of them but my crush (they still don’t know who it is.) and I don’t date so it didn’t matter. By the time we were in the grade assembly, we greeted everybody. I found Veronica on the side, I passed by her and she grabbed my arm. She gave me a smile and pointed at the seat beside her. Emily gave me a stare, wondering if I’d choose her over them. I gave a smile back to Veronica but refused, telling her my friends already saved me a seat. I went down the stairs to my best friends. Amy whispered, “What the hell did she want?” I gave her a look, meaning it wasn’t the time. And finally our assembly started.
