2. Aftermath

Four days after I left the WWE, the news finally broke out that I had retired. I went on wwe.com today and sure enough its the very first thing you see.

AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best.

When I saw the post, I felt like it was still that day that I left my dream job.The article listed me as April Mendez, so I guess they forgot that I was married.

They shouldn't have forgot as that was the day they fired Philip.

That whole situation made my last month's with the company uncomfortable. People giving me looks, saying things about me. I was through with it all.

These past few days I've been cooped up in my house playing on my Xbox One. I have worn these same pajama bottoms since Wednesday.

"Hey babe" Philip walked into the house.

"Hi baby." I said as I jumped into his arms. He's gone most of the time training for his upcoming UFC debut.

"How you been holding up. I know leaving must've been hard for you"

" It was very difficult, but I felt like I needed to do it. I wasn't liking the vibes in the environment , creative, the lawsuit. Not to mention I'm pretty banged up myself."

WWE doctor Chris Amann is suing Philip for what he claims as him wrongfully accusing him of misdiagnosing him with a minor injury when it was really a life threatening staph infection.

Philip went on Colt Cabbanna's podcast and noted that a doctor at WWE failed to notify him that it was really a staph infection.

That played a big part in the uneasy vibes backstage.

"We don't have to bring that up April."

"Sorry."

"What do you want to do, now that you have left your dream job?" He curiously asked.

That was a good question. What did I want to do?

"Wrestling and gaming is all I know."

" Anything that you put your mind to you can do it."

"Awww thanks babe."

We decided to watch the hockey game on TV and chill.

While doing this I got the certain urge to blurt an idea out.

"I want to write a book."

"Yeah that's great babe." Philip said, distracted by the hockey game.

"Philip."

"April."

I proceeded to stand in front of the TV to get his attention.

"April what the hell! Move out of the way!"

"I know your ass heard me. I said I want to write a damn book!"

"I'm sorry babe that really that sounds like a good idea. What do you want to write about?"

"That's the thing, I have no idea. Should it be a autobiography telling my story to inspire young girls, a juicy tell all, a fiction book?"

"Well a tell all would likely get you in trouble with WWE so-"

"That's why I'm going to do it!"

"Come again?" Phil said confused.

"I've always been a bit edgy towards the end of my run, the pipebombshell, and calling Steph out on Twitter."

"Is it worth the possible controversy and legal trouble you may face?"

"Im willing to give it a try."

"OK. Prepare for the wild adventure you're about going to go on."

"Oh trust me, I will."
