First things first, I saw the new Spider-Man movie, New Day. If you haven't seen it yet, HIGHLY recommended!
Also, like many people have been asking and waiting for over the past few years, I finally have a fully fledged idea for a sequel. I'm much more of an origin and one-off story person, so I was a little intimidated about writing a continuation of anything, but especially for my most popular story. However, now I'm confident enough in the timeline I have to at least get started. Furthermore, I see this as a challenge to go outside my comfort zone and work on a couple I already developed and develop them even more, on top of the sequel aspect. I guess it also helps that watching the new movie gave me a sudden burst of inspiration.
In another story's "Up Next!" post, I uploaded the idea I had for the new story, but it's changed since I last tried to plan out the story. While most of it holds up, the end of the story will overlap with Brand New Day events, with some time after the events as well. It will still have that star-crossed-lovers trope/feel (at least I hope), but it might have some more mature themes since all the characters are aged up. Also, instead of going straight into the story, I am going to have a small mini-series first for context in between the first and second book. It won't be a full-fledged book. It will be one-shots, headcannons, and small scenarios and imagines. A big part of the wait for the sequel was that I struggled with one-shots because I wanted them to have the feel and impact of a full story without the length. However, I've removed that aspect and will go for quick reads instead.
All this said, I wouldn't expect this for a few months to come. I'm still writing 2 other fics right now, and while one is almost finished, the other is only through its first arc. I just wanted you guys to know, for those of you who have asked, and reread this multiple times, and those of you who have just read it. Thanks a lot for the continued support through the years, and I am genuinely excited to work on this again!
