"How ya doing?" Damon asked Elena.
"Fine," she huffed out.
"You know I can help you."
"No thanks."
"Yeah. You're already carrying me Damon," Eva said, annoyed he even thought of dropping her.
Ignored, Damon went on to say, "Just one quick, whoosh."
"I said I'm fine."
"Once again, you have someone in your arms."
~
"We've got about a mile left," Alaric said.
Eva looked at the sun, as it was getting lower and lower in the sky. "The suns about to set. I really don't want to be dog food."
"I can see that Eva," Elena replied. "The moon doesn't reach its apex for awhile. We have time."
A twig snapped near them, causing them all to look where the noise came from. A man in a flannel came stumbling out of the woods, blood covering his face.
"Stay where you are," Alaric said, pointing his crossbow at him.
"Vampires," the bloodied man whispered, staring at Eva and Damon. He then ran towards her, causing her to grab his throat. He pushed her into a tree, roaring in her face. Alaric shot him with a crossbow, which didn't do much harm. Damon rushed at them, trying to rip the man off of her, but he just pushed him away with his other hand. Elena reached into her bag, pulling out a wolfsbane grenade, and tossed it to Eva, who crushed it in the mans face. He fell to the ground, groaning in pain when eva kicked him and knocked him out.
"Let me guess," Alaric started, "Hybrid."
~
"These ropes aren't gonna hold him much longer," Damon said.
"Ric, here," Elena said to Alaric. "Take these." Damon reached to to grab them and yelled in pain. "I said Ric," Elena shrugged.
"We don't have enough stuff to hold him," Alaric said, wrapping the rope around the tree and the hybrid. "I don't think we're gonna make that ridge before the full moon.
"If we can get him to talk, we don't have to." Suddenly, the hybrid gasped. His bones then started to break, as he screamed in pain.
"Is her turning?" Damon asked.
"He shouldn't be, it's still daylight."
"Tell him that," Alaric said.
"There's not supposed to be werewolves out here until the moon is full." Elena huffed.
"Ropes aren't gonna hold a wolf."
"Damon we've got to get out of here! We've got to get out of these mountains now!" Eva screamed.
"Damon now!" Elena yelled shoving Damon. He let go of the hybrid and they ran. They sprinted through the forest at full speed, trying to get as far away from the turning hybrid as possible. Elena then tripped causing them all to stop.
"Don't move," Eva said, Elena slowly looked up at the wolf standing in front of her. Eva and Damon shared a glance right before Eva said "Here doggy, doggy."
Her and Damon then sprinted off, causing the now wolf to sprint after them.
Eva turned her head towards Damon "We need to split up."
They both sprinted off into different directions. Eva ran until something threw her against a tree. She looked up to see a girl with blood dripping down her face like tears. Eva screamed, unable to stop from yelling out. Suddenly, the girl dropped to the ground, her heart having been ripped from her chest while a tall man with curly blonde hair stood behind her. Eva stared at him, he looked familiar but she couldn't figure out why.
"Who the hell are you?" she asked. He stared at her for a second, confused as to why the girl he was forced to abandon 400 years ago was on the ground in front of him. "Hello? Are you dumb?"
He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. She still doesn't remember. Of course she doesn't, he compelled her to forget him and his entire family. "I might ask the same question. My name is Niklaus Mikaelson, maybe you've heard of me? Original hybrid?" He watched as fear filled her face. "Come on love, I don't bite. Well actually I do, but not too much," he smirked. "Come on now love, what are you doing out here all alone? You never know what can be hiding in the shadows."
"I'm usually what's hiding in the shadows," she said dusting off her pants as she stood up. "Now if you'll excuse me," he grabbed her arm as she tried to walk past him.
"Actually love, I think it would be best if you were to stay with me."
"And why is that?"
"You could come into some use."
~
Eva sat annoyed next to the original hybrid, staring at the bodies that littered the ground around them. "They went crazy. I had to kill them all." He said, staring at the bodies with a frown etched onto his face. Eva stared at him, still trying to remember where she knew him from.
"I feel like I've met you before," she said.
"You have, but I can't let you remember yet."
