Chapter 7

They all kind of looked at Penelope like she was some alien, or at least that's what she felt like. The guy in her class finally spoke up, "Hey! Weren't you in my Algebra class?" He asked with a small smile.Then, his name finally popped in her head.

"Yeah, Franky right?" she asked, her voice small and she never really made eye contact.

Franky nodded smiling showing big round white teeth. His tucked a piece of his long, dark brown hair behind his ears as it brushed his shoulders.He wore a KISS shirt and jeans with some worn out Converse. He was a few inches taller than Penelope, but from what she could remember and how he was acting Franky seemed nice.

The next to step forward was the girl from Penny's Biology class. She smiled and bounced over to her giving her a big hug that Penelope was definitely not expecting. "I don't know if you remember me, but I'm Sabrina. Sabrina Thibodeaux," she said as she pulled away and giggled at the expression on Penelope's face.She had long brown hair that was curly and hit midback. Sabrina had little wisps around her face that looked somewhat like a halo and bright pink lips that always seemed to be smiling. She was a little shorter than Penelope and seemed adorable and loving.

The rest of group still seemed a bit tense, but not as much now that some of the group had accepted her. Jack introduced Penelope to the rest of the group. There was Andre who had light brown hair and deep brown eyes, but his brow was always furrowed like the sun was in his face. Then there was Slater with long black hair just passed his shoulders and squinty eyes. Next to him was Gil who was built and had a small fro he gave her a warm smile showing perfect white teeth between his dark lips. Then there was Ryan who had short tousled blonde hair and sea green eyes. He grinned at her and gave her a wink. Penelope tried to suppress the blush creeping onto her cheeks. Next was Jesse who had a small red fro and olive skin, she smiled politely at Penelope even giving a little wave. To the left of Jesse was Whitney. She has long straight brown hair and empty hazel eyes. When Penelope smiled at her she just crossed her arms and cocked an eyebrow at her.

Jack shot Whitney a warning glance. He really didn't want to scare Penelope away. Everything was going pretty well so far in his opinion.

"Andre, you got that frisbee?" He asked.

Andre cracked a smile,"You know I do!"

He ran to his car and came back with a red frisbee. "Let's go!" The boys all ran in different directions smiling and laughing like little kids. The girls went and spread a blanket out under a tree, laying about on it. Penelope wasn't sure where to go. She loved frisbee but didn't want the other girls to think she didn't like them.

"Penelope!" Sabrina called, smiling and waving her over.

Penelope went, sat next to her Indian style and placed her bag next to her. "So Penelope what do you like to do?" Jesse asked looking at her expectantly.

"Well, I like to read books and write stories. I also like riding my bike and drawing. Listening to music. You know? Just stuff," she answered shrugging a bit.

"You write stories? That's so cool. What kind of stories do you write?" Sabrina asked.

"Well, mostly fantasy I guess or Victorian time period. A little science fiction as well," Penelope answered smiling genuinely because these girls seemed really nice.

Jack threw the red plastic disc to Ryan who spun and threw it to Gil. He laughed at his friends and turned around to see Penelope actually smiling and talking with Jesse and Sabrina. Then, he saw the look on Whitney's face as she sat there with her arms crossed and almost her back completely turned away from the three girls. She noticed he was looking at her and she gave him a smirk and a flirty wave, but the smirk looked almost like a sneer. Whitney definitely did not like that Jack had brought Penny.

Jack rolled his eyes at her and turned around to see Ryan in front of him. "So, dude, whats the situation with you and Penelope?" He asked staring over at her and having that glint in his eyes.

Jack narrowed his eyes at his friend, a very well known player, and asked,"Why?"

He didn't realize his fists had balled up and his jaw had become tense. Ryan turned and looked at Jack, his eyes widening. "Woah! Man chill."

Jack looked down at his fists and released them looking back up at Ryan surprised. "Uh. Sorry, man. I didn't realize I was doing it," Jack got out.

Ryan smirked at Jack and patted his shoulder, "it's all good, dude."

"Me and Penny are just really close friends. That's all," Jack said shrugging trying to understand what just happened.

"Far out..." Ryan said still smirking at him and then his eyes wandered to Penelope again. Jack didn't like the way he looked at her.

"Ow maan!" Slater yelled as Gil held him down and Franky smacked him in the face with the frisbee.

Jack chuckled and looked back at Penelope who was giggling at Slater. She looked at him and made a face that said 'Look people like me!' He smiled to himself glad Penelope had agreed to come.
