The Alpha's Promise

Magic Bullet

I wake up in the early hours of the morning to see Derek missing. I search for any sound and I hear nothing. I get up and grab my clothes. I start to change but I hear a low growl from somewhere. I stop changing and listen for any movement.
I sniff the air and I smell the presence of another werewolf. Not just any werewolf...the alpha.

I let out a low warning growl and I slowly walk outside. I look out the front door and see a pair of glowing red eyes. I glow my eyes back and go into a crouching position.

The Alpha runs forward to me and he bites my legs. I scream out in pain and then I slice it's side. It lets go of my leg and I fully transform and I run at it. It leaps at me and I slide under it, slicing it's stomach in the process. It lands and turns around. It stands up straighter and scratches my arm.

I let out a deep and low snarl and it backs up a bit. I charge at it head on and jump on it. I claw at its face and bite at it. It digs its nails into my back and I scream out in pain. It brings me closer to its face and looks me in the eyes. Something about the eyes seem so familiar...like I've known them forever.

I bring my head to its shoulder and I bite it as hard as I can. It howls out in pain and drops me. It takes a few steps back and stares at me. We snarl at each other and I notice the sun is rising. The alpha notices the same thing and runs into the trees once again.

I sit on the ground panting.

It wasn't half transformed or a full wolf. It was a monster. I've never seen anything or heard anything like it.

I look back at where it ran off and I get up realizing it only comes out at night. It's the monster kids think about at night.
I make my way back into the Hale house and change into last nights clothes. I start to walk to my loft so I can get ready for school.

I arrive at my loft and I run upstairs to take a quick shower. I exit my shower and quickly brush my hair to throw it in a messy pony tail. I brush my teeth and then I grab my clothes. I know I don't look the best right now but I don't care. I grab my bag and run downstairs so I can speed off to school. My gashes healing in the process of this all.

End of school day...
I sit here at my locker waiting for Stiles or Lydia. I look over and I see Justin in the distance and I quickly turn and walk away.

"Odessa! Wait! Odessa!" Justin calls after me. I pretend like I don't hear it as if it wasn't me. He eventually stop coming to the conclusion that it isn't me he was calling to.

I turn to see Derek walking down the hallway towards the exit. I run to him and he looks sick. He looks like my aunt Trisha did when she got shot with the wolfsbane bullet.

"Der? Hey, are you ok?" I ask worried.

"I was shot." I says and he rolls up his jacket sleeve. There is a bullet hole and the skin is starting to turn black.

"Oh my god, no." I say. He stumbles a bit. I help him walk outside of the school and down the steps. Everyone is leaving school right now.

"Stiles." Derek tells me. I look up and see Stiles about to pull out of his parking spot in his jeep.

I pull Derek along as we make our way to Stiles. He's about to drive off but Derek pushes himself off of me and lands in front of Stiles' jeep.

Stiles slams on the brakes and gets out of the car. Scott comes running up and sees Derek on the ground.

"What's happening?" He asks Derek. He looks at me for help.

"He got shot by a wolfsbane laced bullet." I say.

"What?" He asks.

"It's a bullet designed to kill our kind. It makes us lose control of our animal side. Once it reaches our heart...we are dead." I explain.
