New Girl

TY'S POV

"Ty!" My best friend, Dani, yells down the school hall and waves to me. I smile and wave back. We've been best friends since we were three. She's always been there for me. When I didn't get the part for the movie I auditioned for last month and called her crying, she came over to my house with two tubs of my favorite ice cream! She's such a great best friend.

She walks up to my locker and watches me grab my books. "So...first day of school...you nervous?" She asks, while picking at a loose string on her shirt.

I shake my head. "Kinda excited actually...what's that crowd over there?" I ask, diverting my attention to a small group of people. "I don't know. The crowds of people are always usually around you!" she laughs jokingly. "Hey! I bet it's the new girl!" she says.

"New girl?" I ask. Just then, I catch a glimpse of a girl in the center of the group. She's so beautiful. "Whoa."

Dani'S POV

"Whoa." Ty breathes out while looking at the new girl. I feel jealousy bubble up inside me. I've liked Ty since fourth grade. I would've liked him sooner, but up until fourth grade boys still had cooties.

I love his inside and out. Of course, as usual, I couldn't risk telling him and loosing our friendship...

I snap out of my thoughts soon enough to see Ty walking towards the crowd of people. Ty walking towards the new girl. Ty walking towards the person who could take away my boyfr- my best friend.

"Ty! What are you doing?" I yell to him. He turns around while walking to answer me. "I'm just..gonna go say hi.." He mumbles and turns back around.

I manage a small laugh and watch him slither his way to the group. He stands on the outside and jumps up to try to see inside, but fails. I laugh at him and he gives me a funny glare while mouthing "Stop laughing!" which just makes me laugh more.

I finally stop and see him slide into the center to talk to the new girl (I forgot her name and quite frankly don't care to remember).

My heart aches knowing Ty's probably talking to this girl who's way prettier than me...but she'll never love him as much as I do...
