Little Secrets

TY'S POV

"YOU DID WHAT?!" Evan yells after I told him all about the movie theater incident. "Shut up, Ryan's trying to study. And I know, I know. It was awful and I wasn't thinking and I made a stupid mistake, Okay?" I say with a pleading yet annoyed tone.

Evan takes a breathe and calms down. "Okay. So what are you gonna do now? Dani's with Brayden and your still with Marlena." I scoff at the mention of Marlena. "Ya she thought what I did was 'wild and exciting'." I roll my eyes and Evan does the same.

"So what's your plan? I know you love Dani, Ty, but she seems like she really likes Brayden. If you really love her, I think you'll have to let her be happy...even if it means she's with someone who's not you." Evan says with a sad face.

I cover my face with my hands and lay back on my bed. "I do love her," I spread my arms out. "I didn't think I would. I didn't even think of her like that until she mentioned..Brayden. But I do. And I guess you're right. I'll just..be miserable without her..wondering if she'll ever love me back. " I say, staring at the ceiling.

Evan lays down next to me and crosses his arms over his stomach. "Wanna hear a little secret?" He asks. I turn my head to give him a suspicious look but nod.

"Dani...she loves you too. Or at least she did. She got really jealous when you talked about Marlena. She liked you since she met you. You always had the chance..I guess you ruined it, pal." Evan says frankly.

It takes me a moment to react. "Wait she- why didn't you tell me?!" I sit up and slap him repeatedly on the arm. He sits up to defend himself. "Hey! I'm probably gonna get this from Dani if she finds out I told you!"

I run my hands through my hair, trying to process this. "I messed everything up! I did! I could be with her right now! But I was stupid!..... And you were trying to tell me she loved me! Oh my god! Do you think she..she still, um.. Feels something for me?" I ask a little desperately.

"Wel- I mean, she- she's going out with Brayden..Don't mess this up more for her, Ty." He stutters, unsure. I place my elbows on my knees, cover my face, and look at the floor. "I know..I know," I sit back up and lean my head back. "But you'll at least..talk to her? Right?" I beg.

He gives me a fake smile and nods. I try to smile back. "You're not too bad a friend, you know that?" He smiles for real this time and I do too. "Ya I know." We laugh together. "Just don't tell Dani I told you this or she'll kill me." We laugh harder. "Promise."
