Prologue

He was lost and he didn't realize it.

His eyes were staring somewhere ahead but his mind didn't register that.

He was walking, his legs were seemingly working on their own.

Nothing seemed wrong, but everything was. His mind was blank. He was numb to any kind of emotion or thought.

Something startled him.

That's when he noticed his surroundings. He seemed to be in a forested area within the city. He took out his phone to switch on GPS to know where exactly he was. He let out a gasp when he saw the time was almost ten. He had been wandering  for the past three hours.

He couldn't believe that he was betrayed by the one he trusted his life with.

That's when he heard it, a sound that was distant but sounded more like a plea. His legs took off in that direction before he could register what it was.

There he saw her in a pool of blood, clothes tattered and in pain. He also saw a few guys running off at some 30-40 yards distance. He could catch them if he gave a chase, but she needed him now.
