Chapter 9

The nurse in charge of Valli, the two security cops and a couple of by standers who had nothing to do with Valli were in the conference room along with the ward's janitor. And what was the discussion? Oh! it was Nothing, they were bound, gagged and in Sedation cause they intervened in her kidnapping.

The girl was taken and all those who came to help were overpowered and they ended up in the conference room.
There were CCTV cameras everywhere, but were they working?

The CCTV camera in her room was 'fixed' and it captured nothing amiss. In fact, all the while it showed as though Vel was with Valli. His head resting on the bed near her shoulders, a sweet pose of embrace. A closer examination showed that a picture of this scene had been shot earlier in a poloroid camera and this picture was stuck to the lens of the camera. The angle of the picture also meant that the picture was taken from top either from the ventilator or from the higher floor's varendah on the opposite side and probably unknown to Vel. The camera in the corridor captured a patient being taken to the operation theatre and then to the mortuary.

Someone had instead of attacking the kidnappers had called the police and from their hiding spot saw a twitching movement in the body being taken to the mortuary. And when the police came was able to report all this in anonymity.
The repeated playing of the CCTV that covered the corridor yielded nothing major as their faces was covered with green surgical masks, wigs and added beards covered the rest. The gang had planned meticulously for its appearance.

Unaware of this, two people dressed as janitors were moving about suspiciously. On Vikram's cue, a lady cop of similar physical attributes as Valli, took her position in the room. In that moment the room was un sealed.
The two entered Valli's room and tried to smother her with a pillow. The police came out of their hiding and caught the two in act. They tried hard to escape but in vain. If she was already taken then why did they send some one to kill her? Unless two different sets of people were involved.

The interrogation was to begin in some time. How many people are out to get her. At this point one could only feel Thank God! She was not here. If she wasn't  kidnapped she would have been dead by now and they would have been too late. It seemed Vikram was experiencing more of God these days. Maybe he should interact more with this person if he was to perform better. Oh this line of thought was not good for him. He came this far through his efforts and would continue thus only. So he left all God talks and continued with his task in hand.

Since the beginning of this case there were more questions asked than any answers that were available. This time too a plethora of questions swarmed Vikram's mind. Who took her? Why did they do so? Where did they take her? What plans did they have for her? What must this girl have to do with two different gangs? As usual he only had questions and answers were out somewhere waiting to be discovered.

One more question was gaping expectantly at him... What was he going to tell Vel?
