Bryan was the leader of group E, the scavenging party which means he is also the leader of the Larkins group. A group of 47 kids under the age of 16. The scavenging party was a group of the Larkin's best fighters and strategists.
The Larkins group was divided into 6 segments, A, B, C, D, E, and F. Which made it easier for the big kids to divide the children and stay organized.
"They are getting more stubborn." Said Micheal who is fair haired and clean-cut. He could of attracted girls if he didn't have crooked teeth.
"Well it's summer. They're hungrier than ever. It was easier in the winter." yawned Calloway who was good looking and fit and held a spear as a weapon. In every group they are always a boy and a girl who are the skilled fighters. And in the Larkins group, Calloway was one of those 'skilled fighters.'
"We should check out the sports center. That's probably the last place any other groups in Washington would have checked." Said McKenzie who was a medium haired blonde girl.
Before the disaster accrued. Strangers would have fancied her and tried to hit on her. Now most of the boys are scared of her short temper ever since Bryan made her Co-leader.
"Pf-ft. Have you've been living under a damn rock this whole time clown face? Or are you just mentally stupid? Other groups around Washington would have already cleared that place to the core." Laughed Bryan.
The rest of the group laughed as McKenzie slowly started to loose her temper.
"No.~" McKenzie chuckled. "They would have not cleared that whole place to the core. You see Bryan sweetie, before the whole illness struck, I used to go to the sports center a lot to lift weights with my father. And the fitness center I went to was 3 freaking floors." Shouted McKenzie.
"Oh you lift weights? I didn't know because when even Charlie the weakest 14 year old in the group faced you off in arm wrestling." Bryan started to laugh. "Charlie beated your sorry ass."
McKenzie face started to get red from both anger and embarrassment. "Listen up pretty boy. That was because I was bloody tired from yelling at Class E for not moving and getting work done. Plus I had to hear you lecture about toilet duties for 2 hours straight!" McKenzie took deep breaths.
Even though Bryan and McKenzie were both leaders. And McKenzie just became co-leader 4 weeks ago. They work amazing together when they actually agree on one thing. But when someone comes to a disagreement. It normally starts with a full on verbal abuse.
Calloway sighed as they rest of his peers laugh. "Here we go again. Hey ya'll wanna grab some popcorn cause this is going to be a while."
McKenzie left Bryan laughing on the floor and she speed walked towards a girl with long brown hair, who was wearing an over-sized Letterman jacket with skinny jeans.
"Right Eden? We should check out the sports center?." Yelled McKenzie as her face is already red as a tomato.
"Oh, Yes. I think it's a good idea to look first." Although her quiet and mysterious nature, Eden is the Larkins groups best female skilled fighters. The young ones call her the ice princess due to her high monotone voice and since she is attractive.
Kids in the Larkin group would have tried to hit on her but they don't because they soon realise that she is almost completely devoided of emotion.
"See? Even Eden agrees. Can't beat that." said McKenzie as she sounded like a spoiled brat.
Once Bryan realized it was Eden talking, his mind was changed. "Fine. We can check out your damn sports center. But not over 20 minutes." Although Bryan did not know if he had fancied Eden, but he took her decisions very seriously since, well, he just does. Eden reminds him of his older brothers girlfriend.
Quiet, wise and good looking.
Everyone in the scavenging group was shocked on how quickly his mind changed.
"What are we waiting for? Christmas? Hurry your asses up and lets go before sundown." Yelled Bryan. He sounded like a General.
"Actually, I would like Christmas." chuckled Calloway.
"Yup. Can't beat that." Agreed Micheal
"I would like to have an order of 3 hot cocoas please?" giggled Jax who had curly hair and is the brains of the group.
"Yay!" Said McKenzie excitedly. "We are going to the sports center!"
"Hush." Said Grayson who was wearing a black shirt with the collars up, and jeans and held a sword as a weapon. People say he is the boy version of Eden even though he talks more than Eden.
"What? What's wrong?"
From a distance of the other side of the road you could hear distant groaning and nasty sounds.
Bryan was trying to squint his eyes to see what was going on. His vision was finally clear.
"Grown ups." said Grayson. "And lots of them."
"Hey Cal." Whispered Micheal.
"Yeah what up boy?" Calloway said readying his spear.
"Can we save hot cocoa for later?"
"If you can take down 12 of them nasties then yes. Otherwise you won't get any." Laughed Calloway.
"I bet you can't take down 12." Micheal said jokingly.
"Wanna bet Hotshot?" said Calloway grinning.
"It's on."
