After school, Brandon and I walked to Fuzzy Friends. When I entered, Betty was sitting at the desk. Once she saw us, her eyes lot up and said, "Hi Nikki! What a surprise to see you again!"
"Gran - er, I mean, Betty," Brandon said, "Nikki's family is suffering from a financial loss and she needs to earn some money, do you mind if she works here?"
"Of course not," Betty said with a big warm smile, "Come sit down and fill up the paperwork."
"Thank you," I said and took a seat.
After filling out the paper, Brandon led me to the backyard and introduced me to the dogs that were waiting for us.
"This one is Buttercream, this one is Valentine, this is Spotty, this one is Sandy, and this," Brandon stopped and pointed at a cute brown puppy with bright green eyes, "is...well...Nikki. I named her after you since she looked like you."
I bent down and picked her up.
"She's so cute!" I said.
I spent thee tire afternoon exercising the dogs with Brandon. Before I went home, Betty gave me some money.
It's off to a good start! And I'm glad I earned a bit of money yesterday!
