“Thank you, Ms. Darkholme.” Unique thanked the principle as the door shut behind her. Unique walked down a hall then another in her usual school-girl attire that was the dress code for the orphanage. “Alright,” Unique muttered to herself as she continued to walk down the halls with her books, map and class schedule in her hands. “First is … Oh! Science! Fun, with...

Mr. McCoy, in room number, 110.” Unique stopped at her locker and placed her book bag inside along with her books, for her classes in the order of which she was to attend them. She continued to order the contents and taped an air freshener to the roof on the inside of the tan locker. After a few moments, the bell rang to get to first period, so Unique grabbed her schedule, science book, note book, and three number two pencils. Suddenly, somebody tapped her shoulder, causing her to jump, but only a little. Unique turned and found a tall male teenage brunette boy who seemed to tower a foot or two above her. He wore a brown vest with a black short sleeved shirt underneath, along with matching black fingerless gloves, and blue tattered jeans.

“Oh, hello there.” Unique greeted first. “Can I help you?” The boy looked a bit surprised that Unique was the first to talk considering she was new.

“H-hi. My name’s Lance. Lance Alvers. Hey, are you the girl who gave us those cookies yesterday?” Lance asked her curiously. Unique closed her locker softly, and stuck out her hand.

“Name’s Unique. Just Unique and yes. I did deliver those cookies. Did you like them? Were they okay?” Lance and Unique shook hands for a second, then let go.

“Okay? They were amazing!” He shouted as they started walking off to class.

“Well, I’m glad that you enjoyed them. I guess I’ll see you later. Nice meeting you!” Unique shouted back to him and waved, then turned to face the way she was walking, but literally walked into a tall senior student and they both fell back. Unique fell back, and landed on the floor as did the other senior boy. She rubbed the back of her head, and looked over at the tall teen.

“Aw, bloody - I’m – I’m sorry. I am a beyond major Klutz.” Unique apologized. The boy didn’t reply, but was covering his eyes while trying to find his dark red glasses that had fallen on the floor with him. “Oh, I'm sorry.” Unique apologized again. “Here, let me help you. It’s my fault you’re in this mess in the first place. I can’t even stand without falling, stumbling, or tripping. Except for when I’m acting, which is probably really quite strange.” Unique told him and slid his glasses back onto his face for him.

“Uh, thanks. I’m Scott by the way. Scott Summers.” He introduced himself as he stood up and was an entire foot and a half taller than Unique. Unique stuck out her hand as she introduced herself while looking up at him with a kind smile.

“I’m Unique.” She paused. “My name, I mean. Not the adjective, otherwise, that would be entirely arrogant and vain … Oh, nice to meet you by the way.”

“Yeah. You too. Are you new here?”

“Mmhm. Yes that I am.” There was an awkward silence between them. “Well, I’d better be off to class now.” Unique told him and walked off.
