Unique pulled out her simple oval locket out of her plaid knee-length skirt’s pocket, and placed it underneath the collar of her white flannel button-up shirt so that instead of a tie, it was a beautiful necklace. She stuffed her dog tags underneath her shirt so that she still wore them, but they weren’t visible.
Unique held her locket, and meticulously opened it up. On the left side of the small locket, there was a kind looking woman, and on the right, there was a rough looking man.
The man was tough and scruffy looking with soft, dark slick hair. He had broad shoulders with an almost stony, stubbled face. His eyes were a dark chocolate brown filled with a kind light, but a dark, harsh past. Darker thin eyebrows were placed above. Along with all of this, he had a thin, down-ward nose with thin lips, and all placed in their proper, human places. On the bottom of the picture, there was his name drawn in beautiful readable cursive letters: Logan
The woman on the left side of the locket was the woman. She appeared more soft, kind, and a bit less tense. She had gorgeous brown hair tinted with red that draped down her soft, clothed shoulders. Her face was very lovely and very mature looking. It was soft, smooth, and yet precise in every detail. She had a small roundish nose, along with full, lush lips which wore a calm, bright smile. Her eyes were a deep, mesmerizing soft green-grey-blue, and seemed full of knowledge. In the same golden cursive letters, her name was written: Kayla.
Unique smiled slightly to herself. Then, in a scrupulous manner, she shut the locket, and continued to roam down the street with her plate of cookies she cautiously carried down the street. Unique stayed alert, but kept her head aimed down slightly, so that the half of her hair that was not pulled back, would cover her pointed ears. The headMistress of the orphanage of Bayville, had told her that they were just deformed, and that this was a common mishap in some cultures.
Finally, she came upon a fairly big pink colored house. She walked up to the porch, and heard arguing inside. Unique went to knock on the door, but instead the ground started to shake causing Unique to easily fall back on her bottom, and throw the delicious plate of cookies into the air. Unique scrambled to her feet, but tripped in the process causing her to fall onto her stomach, while the plate landed easily into her hands. Unique breathed out a breath of relief and stood up, stumbling a bit as she caught her balance not noticing a person who had seen all of this. She dusted herself off, then went to go to the porch, but stopped dead in her tracks, almost tripping, but once again caught balance. There stood in front of her a green looking teenage boy, whom was quite comparable to a toad.
“Whoa, uh, who are you?” He asked in a slangy toned voice.
“Unique.” She answered unhesitatingly. “My name is Unique.” An awkward pause. “I brought some cookies, which include chocolate, vanilla, and mint chips. I also brought a bag of separate frozen cookie dough, so that all you have to do is pick a chunk out of the bag, place it on a cookie sheet, then pop it in the oven and set it to 360 degrees. That is, if you, and your housemates would be interested.” Unique went on without a stutter, or hesitation, but instead wore a smile.
“Uh, thanks.” He replied and took the bag. Though, once he looked up Unique was nowhere to be seen. “Huh, Freaky.”
