"I miss you so much." I whined to Jack who I'd been on the phone with for the past hour.
"I miss you too. You should just come now instead of doing your last shoot." He seemed hopeful.
I shook my head even though he couldn't see. "My sister would hunt me down and kill me if I bailed on her."
"I'd protect you." He promised.
I smiled. "She's crazy. You'll get it to." We both chuckled a little. "Trust me, I'll be on a flight the moment I'm done working. I have to go now. I need to be there to start our first day in 20 minutes. I love you."
"Okay. I love you too." He hung up.
I threw my phone in my purse and left the house quickly, hopping in my car and driving quickly to the store to pick my sister up. I'd been thinking about Ashton too much to even feel comfortable telling my own damn boyfriend that I loved him. I needed a distraction. When Veronica hopped in she handed me a silver gift. I glared at it.
"Here's another one." She sighed handing it to me.
Ashton had sent me gift after gift the past week. He now sent them to the shop and I didn't know why there was a sudden change in addresses. I opened it before pulling out. It was a diamond bracelet. I closed my eyes in frustration and closed the box back up throwing it in the back of the car.
"What was that about?" She asked. I opened my eyes to see her staring at me like I was crazy.
I started the car and pulled out, my mood completely plummeted. "Can I tell you something that you can't tell anyone or I will be forced to kill you?"
"Yes, of course you can." She smiled a kind smile.
"These gifts are not from my boyfriend." I admitted in a small voice. "They're from someone I used to talk to who never lost feelings for me and I never lost feelings for him and he's screwing my head up."
She squealed, "Awh, who is it?"
I cringed, "Um, Ashton Irwin actually."
"Musicians flock to you. Tell me your secret." She joked trying to lighten the mood.
I shrugged, "Just be exceptionally good at being antisocial and a slutty drunk and they'll love you. Ashton and Niall both met me drunk or drinking."
"I'll have to remember that." She noted with another smile. It faded slowly. "So... what are you gonna do?"
I threw one hand up in irritation. "I have no clue. Any advice?"
She laughed at my irritation. Which was irritating. "Yeah, go into hiding. Its better than choosing. Jacks a hunk of gorgeous muscle and Ashtons a drummer hottie. I'd rather die than choose."
I rolled my eyes. "Helpful."
"Just looking out for ya." She smiled. "How long has it been since you've seen Ashton?"
"A while. Almost two months now. We knew each other but I was always so guarded. I don't know why I feel like I miss him now. We weren't even together." I was pulling into the parking lot as I spoke. I shut the engine off and leaned my head against the wheel. "What do I do?"
"I honestly think you'll have to see Ashton again and talk to him before you can decide what to do." Her suggestion was one that I've considered many times the past few days so why did it make more sense when she said it?
"That's what I'll do." I pulled out my phone quickly, before I could change my mind, and texted Ashton.
Me:
Can I see you?
