Noor was surprised to see Yazaan early at home that day as she was busy washing the dishes. She smiled at him and they exchanged greetings as Yazaan hurried to shower and change. Noor prepared snacks and tea as their was still few hours to dinner.

She sat as Yazaan put on a news channel as she had her glass of juice and her thoughts scattered as she wondered if she should tell Yazaan about the encounter she had with Subhaan at the airport in the early afternoon today.

"Where's Yummi...?" He asked making her step from her thoughts.

"Manhaa took her." Noor revealed as Manhaa was their neighbor's daughter who was fond of toddlers as she was studying tenth and whenever she had time, she would take Yumna to her place for sometime to play with.

"Hmm.." Yazaan nodded as he disliked sending Yumna anywhere which was visible the way his bros furrowed.

"Noor, it's not a good idea sending Yummi to others." He said repeating the discussion. "I told you I am very uncomfortable with it."

"Yazaan, I just send her for sometime and it will be a nice change. Zainab Bhabi, Manhaa and Rabia admire her so much." Noor mentioned still not understanding why Yazaan didn't approve of their Neighbors who comprised of Zameer Bhai and Zainab Bhabhi who were working with two daughters Manhaa and Rabia going to high school.

"You should learn to do your things on your own. It's never a good idea to depend on others." Yazaan stated as Noor snorted.

"I just don't understand how can we survive all alone? We need to mingle up, Yazaan!" She insisted as he sighed in defeat. He knew it was no use arguing with Noor.

"I have seen relationships as they flourish and at some point they turn sour and that's when you regret it. You regret seeking help from others or even creating a bond." Yazaan snapped finally as Noor was annoyed with him.

"Then even we share a relationship Yazaan...Why did you marry me when you think that one day our relationship will turn sour too?" Noor demanded raising her voice few octaves. He didn't reply as he got caught up in some news as he increased the volume as Noor gulped her juice in silence and went away inside the kitchen with the empty dishes dropping them in sink.

Would it be good idea if she talk about Subhaan to Yazaan? She thought standing at the sink washing the dishes as they already were at the start of an argument. She wondered how he would react as it had been years now they haven't discussed Subhaan atleast. She always had him nagging at the back of her head but she never brought it up and the discussion with Yazaan now and his wish to stay in own bubble was suffocating for Noor.

Yazaan worked as a Financial Head in a reputed firm which kept him occupied mostly and he travelled a lot so he get to meet lot of people for business but Noor would stay behind closed in the boundaries set by Yazaan that suffocated her. She only had Yazaan to talk to and her neighbors who were really caring toward her.

She went back to Yazaan as he was changing the channel as she thought she should tell him about Subhaan. She heaved a sigh and gathered courage to share what happened. She wanted to know how he would react about Subhaan after all these years.

"Yaz, there is something I need to tell you." She said biting her lower lip as a wave of anxiousness swept over her. Yazaan didn't look away from TV as she took a deep breath and started.

"Today while returning from Airport I met someone." She said looking expectantly to catch his attention but it didn't affect him.

"Who?" He said his eyes glued to the TV.

She was uncertain how she should bring his name on her tongue as she fidgeted nervously. She did say it but slowly.

"Subhaan..."

He gaped at her as it abruptly caught his attention and he tore his eyes away from TV.

"You met...who?" He asked again not sure if he heard correct.

"Subhaan...The one I used to.." She tried to remind him as he scowled making her realize that he remembered him after all these years.

"The one who made you feel miserable and hurt." Yazaan reminded her as she shut up. She knew how much Yazaan hated him and these were the reasons why she wasn't uncomfortable talking to her husband.

"What was he doing there anyways?" Yazaan asked as Noor frowned in anger. She chose to remain silent as she had her frown yelling 'How the hell am I supposed to know' and Yazaan realized his mistake.

"Noor, I am sorry for asking you that." He suddenly realized his question. "Of course, you wouldn't know about it. You must have ran into him by chance."

Noor looked at him for a second taking a deep breath and went away inside the kitchen fighting the urge to scream at him as she didn't know why was she so pissed by Yazaan's question. Yazaan followed her and grabbed her by the waist resting his head on her shoulder.

"So did you just see him or did you talk to him?" Yazaan asked slowly massaging her back and trying to apologize by his gestures.

"I didn't talk to him but he did run after me to apologize." Noor said feeling guilty. "We weren't on talking terms after what happened. He just apologuzed."

"About what and why now?" Yazaan's anger resurfaced. "I don't get it at all."

"Yazz, relax. I don't want you to take stress about it." Noor said concerned as he stepped back frowning in deep thoughts. "Maybe it was wrong to share something so insignificant."

Noor sighed as Yazaan nodded in refusal.

"No I am glad you shared it Noor." He replied but still shook his head in confusion.

"Did he say anything else?" Yazaan probed. "Like did he leave any contact number or information?"

Noor was surprised at his question as she didn't want to divulge the fact that he left a card at Yumna's stroller pocket. The card that she had held for a long hour and stared at the number and e-mail address until it got printed in her memory. The card that brought nostalgia of days in the past when she was carefree, outgoing and happy and then she tossed it back in the drawer in her bedroom.

"He did hand me a card." She replied as he asked for it. She pulled it out from the drawer and handed it to her and within seconds it was in million torn peices as Noor glared at him shocked.

"What?" He replied her stare. "He deserves it and we are not going to talk about this anymore. Okay? Noor if he ever tries to get in touch with you through any means, just avoid as I don't find any good reason behind it."

"But how would he reach me?" Noor said confused at Yazaan's statement.

"Social media. Facebook. Watsapp...you don't know." Yazaan said knowingly as Noor looked at him flabbergasted. She hardly used her facebook account and to contact on watsapp, you need to have person's contact information. She didn't argue as she was certain he wouldn't reach her.

Noor nodded in silence as Yazaan closed the topic throwing the peices in the dustbin as she was surged with guilt and regret. She don't know why but suddenly she felt abandoned by Yazaan. She expected confronting and support but he offered none. She expected him to talk to her and find out her feelings but he appeared concerned about something else she couldn't figure out.

It would have been better if she would have kept it to herself like her other thoughts but one little question still nagged in her mind. Why was he apologizing now? What was his intentions and what benefit would he seek from Noor when everything is over between them? What were his motives or was it that even he realized he had feelings for Noor after she walked away for good? How correct Yazaan was in keeping her away from Subhaan and why did he act weirdly?

(To be contd....)
