Almost Fifteen Again

Chapter 5: Love and Defeat

     Hey diary, I found another entry so I'm going to start with it here...

      Dear Diary, (12/8/15) 7:30am
     The days have gone by too fast. We can't think of anything. This is hopeless!

I keep having these weird dreams about some lady with long brown hair and she calls me Riley. I don't ever remember this girl being one of my regenerations or this woman being one of my moms. Yet I call her momma.

It's like I know her, but from where? She keeps telling me she is sorry. Something about an Algarian Witch and a curse on me. It's all very confusing, but I'm trying to understand it. I wish I had a normal life. Right now Ben is the only one who makes me feel normal. He is so kind.

The police are out looking for me since my parents reported me missing. But I'm not worried, they won't find me here, there is no evidence that I even know these people.

Ben says everyone at school is worried for me. The principal apparently made a little speech and everything. It feels nice to be missed.

"What if...um...oh okay so what if we put you in another state or bring you to the city over. Maybe they won't find you there." Kate suggests. We've gone over so many scenarios and each one ends with me dead so far. "No." Martha sighs. "The killer probably has some kind of alien tracker on her or something." She's not wrong I've thought about this too. No matter where I am I'm not safe. We've been at this for eight days. I'm supposed to die tomorrow night. Normally I'm used to it and I don't even care, but last time and this time are different. I fell in love. Last time I was engaged and this time I've got a boyfriend who is my best friend's son which is weird if you think about it.

I'm getting overwhelmed again so I walk outside to get some fresh air. I have to go out the back though just in case the cops drive by. Of course one person saw me leave and followed. He always follows me. He knows how to calm me and bring me to my senses. I lean my head on his shoulder and we just sit there looking out into the yard for a bit. "I don't want to die again; I don't want to lose you, my friends, family, or anything else from this life. I just want to be normal." I say letting everything out. "You know that I will search to the end of this earth to find you if you do die. But I won't have to because you're going to live. I won't let the clocked figure hurt you ever again." I'm about to respond, but I'm stopped by a vision.

"No! Please not my child! Do it to me instead, it's my fault!" The lady with long brown hair says. "You ruined my life now I shall ruin yours!" A lady with long black hair yells at the brown haired lady, my mom I guess.

"Please! She is only a child! Have pity on my babe Vena. Please!" my mom cries. She looks down at me in her arms, her sweet little babe and says, "Riley please forgive me. I'm so sorry my sweet child you do not deserve the curse that this Algarian Witch has placed upon you. I am so terribly sorry." "Momma please don't do this." I cry to her through my mind. How? I'm not sure, but I did and she responds with, "I'm sorry Riley I have no choice."

Then I'm drawn back to reality. Tears run down my face and apparently I'm shaking. Once I notice this I stop. Ben has me wrapped in his arms. "Are you alright?" He asks. I nod and tell him about the vision. He listens and doesn't interrupt me while I speak. "Do you think this Vena girl, the Algarian Witch, is responsible for your deaths?" He asks. "Yes. I do and I think she might even be the clocked lady who kills me. As for the other lady though I don't know. I guess she was my original mother." I say.

Kate, Martha, Elie, James, George (Kate's husband), and Jack (Martha's husband) walk out after realizing that Ben and I had disappeared. "Hey." Kate greets. "Hey." I reply. "Look we're sorry if we upset you we didn't mean to. We're only trying to help and it's harder than we thought." Martha says. "It's fine guys I know you mean well. You want to help me, but I don't think you can. I've been having more visions, ones I've never seen before about a time witch and a curse on me because of something my mom did. I don't think I can be saved." I say in defeat. Elie walks over and gives me a hug along with the others and they all try to comfort me. After they break away we all walk back inside. The boys go start on breakfast because the kids are waking up. The girls and I sit in the living room and I tell them more about my vision. Then it happens again, I'm mid-sentence and another vision appears. It's weird because I normally don't get more than one a day.

"Poor, poor little Riley. Mommy couldn't keep you safe. You're going to pay for what she did to me." Vena says as she picks me up into her arms, my mom nowhere to be found.

"She took him from me! He's dead because of her! He didn't get to live long and now neither will you!" She says screaming in my face. Where is my mom? Why would she leave me alone with this woman?

"I call upon the dark forces and curse this Algarian child from Algar with a promise of never fifteen never to be broken! I shall kill this child on the night before her fifteenth birthday and she shall regenerate each time into a new life with only visions of her past lives as she grows up to her death!" Vena screams again. She then puts me back in my crib and disappears.

I start wailing for someone to help. Then all of a sudden a man runs in. My screams soften as if I know him and he gives me comfort. He runs over to me with a concerned face on. The man picks me up and cradles me in his arms. "What's wrong baby girl?" He asks. I guess he's my dad, but I'm still confused. The me in the vision answers him through her thoughts. Again I still don't know how I did that!

"Daddy that mean lady cursed me!" He looks back at my mom who has just walked in. She starts crying, "I knew something like this would happen. She's still not over the accident. David, I don't know what to do." She pleads. "Calm down Karen I'm sure everything will be alright." My dad says and then sets me down so he can give my mom a hug.

The vision ends and just like that I'm pulled back to reality. I'm in the guest bedroom on the bed that I have slept in every night that I've been here. I guess the vision took some time so they brought me here. I walk out and into the kitchen where everyone is making dinner.

I guess I "slept" through lunch. Ben sees me first and runs over. He engulfs me in a hug and gives me a loving kiss on the lips. As we pulled apart everyone else begins to notice my presence. They all ask how I am and what happened. So I explain the vision in the best way I can to them. When I finish we all are wondering the same question: What's an Algarian and where is Algar?

At this point in my life, I still don't entirely understand the whole Algar thing, but I'm working on it because it's my life and I need to know just in case Vena comes again.
