Chapter Four

What the hell?!

Her heart started pounding against her chest as her fear of small and dark places increased inside her chest.

A shuffle was heard in front of her and realized that she wasn't alone in the room.

"W-who a-are you?"

There wasn't an answer but she wasn't about to let her fear overcome her. She composed herself and asked again.

"H-Hello? I-Is somebody t-there?" A loud bump made her jump.

"WHO ARE YOU?!"

She screamed and tears trickled her fearful eyes but she wiped them away with her sleeve. Her eyes slowly adjusted in the dark and there she saw a tall figure, staring right down at her.

A shocked gasp escaped her mouth and jumped back as her back met the wall while the tall figure still stared down at her. He took a couple of steps forward and leaned down at her level. His hand slowly rose to cup her cheek but she turned her face when she felt it.

"P-please, d-don't hurt m-me" she couldn't keep the tears from her eyes anymore and just let them out.

Thoughts already jumped in her head as rape to kill swarmed in every corner. If only she didn't leave her phone inside the room and if only she wouldn't spend too much time in finishing those crime K-dramas that Heejo pushed her to watch.

A sob escaped from her mouth before she could even stop it, she thought of her parents and her two best friends that she loved as they were her siblings. What was she going to do?

His eyes overwhelmed with sadness as he could hear the sobs from the girl of his dreams. He didn't want to scare her but what else would he do if he couldn't reveal himself to her right away? She kept sobbing and it broke him.

He raised both of his hands and gently placed them on both of her cheeks then slowly turned her face to face his. She stopped sobbing but the trembling was still there.

His hands moved away from her cheeks and enclosed his arms around her then brought her head to his chest as he placed his chin on it.

He heard her gasp, he embraced her with so much warmth and felt that she begun to relax.

They both stayed in that position until he pulled away and wiped her tears that were under her eyes then stroked her cheek with his thumb.

"I...I would never ever hurt you, Mari-ya" he spoke for the first time.

Her breath hitched as she heard his voice, it was deep and husky but it wasn't the first time that she heard it. His body was warm and he had a really nice smell, it was so masculine that she couldn't pull away. Then there's another thing, his voice, it wasn't the first time she heard it and the way he hugged her it also was familiar.

As if...she knew this guy from somewhere but she couldn't tell because of the darkness.

Mari could feel him lean over her then moved his head and laid it on her shoulder while he wrapped his arms tightly around her again but this time she didn't protest, she wanted to feel this mysterious but familiar warmth again and think from where and from whom she felt it from.
