RANG

To point the knife downwards before sweeping your cloth over it is the best way to clean a knife in my opinion. Even when I make my stabs to pierce my victim's skin I position myself in a way so that the blood won't touch my skin. The reason isn't something petty, like, I hate the way blood looks on me. The true reason why I don't want it on me is because it's such a hassle to wash it off. So while I was cleaning my knife off my twin sister walked up to me, she has always bore a smirk that tempted me to punch it off, but at that second it seemed like she was scowling. Now this was something that never seemed to happen, but here I was sitting in that moment where my annoying sister was frowning.

"What's got your face deformed like that?" My words were so monotone that one would believe that I didn't give a shit at all, even by how I spoke to my twin nobody would believe that I actually cared, but who the hell ever tried to get to know me.

"Some bitch wants us to sign a contract with them, they didn't even tell me in person," This was not the real reason why my sister was frowning, but our oath kept us from ever lying to each other so I kept my mouth shut and awaited her to continue. "They want us to go on a cruise for our target," At this point most would think this wasn't a big deal, but when you've lost both of your parents in an incident at sea, it's not the brightest idea to travel on sea.

My lips pressed together as I frowned, an expression copied from my sister's face.

"You know we have no choice, our last client only gave us enough for a month seeing how much you eat," I made sure to straighten my face out, getting stressed over a memory that happened years ago wouldn't help us survive. This situation was something that never came across us before, our client's victims were always within the city walls, so when this cruise job was given we couldn't help, but feel wary of who they were against.

"Alright, Let's take this easy, someone that can get on a cruise,"

"Is probably someone that can afford it, so we are talking about someone that's got cash," I finished off the sentence for my sister, this kind of thing happened often, we have never rejected a job and they didn't want to start now. "Was any information given to you, except for the fact that this guy is on a ship? How did they even contact you anyway,"

We are known as the Blood Rose twins, not because of our elegance, or class. My twin sister just wanted to make sure the police didn't give us a shitty name and started to leave behind a red rose dipped in the victim's blood in their mouths. Hence the name, to be honest I didn't give a shit about what we were called, all I cared about was getting paid.

"They got me while I was out shopping," My twin held up two plastic bags clutched in one hand, she took steps forward and dropped herself right next to me, causing the old bench I was on to jolt upwards. "Some random chick start waving towards so I followed her into an alleyway,"

"Of course," I interrupted as I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Anyway," my sister kept on speaking as she threw her arms behind her to lean back against the wall, "When I turned the corner of the alley the chick was gone and there was a note on the ground, what a bitch though since she left it on dog shit," My twin then dug out a wad of tissues from her pocket, if you narrowed your eyes to look at it closely, you could see that there was a wet and brown lump in the center.

"Oh god Ling I'm not touching that shit," I threw the cloth I was using onto the desk in front of me and sheathed my knife, "Why the fuck did you bring that," I scrunched up my nose as I got up to gather some equipment, even though I was complaining about the shit covered note, I was determined to read it correctly. Bringing over some pliers and a thin sheet of metal I set them down on the table before pointing towards the plate that was already set there, indicating for Ling to put the wad on there.

"Because it's evidence," Ling opened up the wad of tissues with two fingers on each hand then slid the note onto the plate. "Fucking shit," my sister cursed as it rolled out, her left hand immediately going up to her nose to cover it, "maybe it wasn't dog poop, and it's actually human poop?"

"I don't care where it came from, I just want the note," After I waved to my sister to go away, I picked up the pliers and proceeded to spread out the crumpled up note, it wasn't too hard seeing that it wasn't as messed up as I thought, then after it was spread out I grabbed the corner of the note and used the metal sheet to sweep off the feces, to my surprise this actually took a while, only because I couldn't stop myself from gagging every few seconds.

When the note was spread out enough and cleaned up to the point where it was able to be read, I brought over a small magnifying glass to read the print.

Dear Twins,

I would like to inform you two of a deal I would like to make, this mission will take place on a cruise and for more information you'll have to find us at the 'screaming cat.' We hope that we can do business and that you two will be the ones to finally complete this mission.

P.S. Our fee for this will be larger than any you two have ever received.

Sincerely, OutRage.

"You missed something Ling," Were my first words as I finished reading the letter, tapping my finger on the wooden table I bit my lip as I thought deeply, "This never mentioned we were after someone specific, it just says that they need us for a mission," This was getting suspicious, this was definitely something that wasn't common and that's what threw me off the most.

"Then we need to dig deeper into this, these days there have been more people after us then there are recruiting us," My sister pulled up behind me to lean over my shoulder, her eyes piercing the note, the point she made was true. They had to take into account the fact that there have been a larger number of people trying to get them killed. I released my lip from my teeth and straightened my back, my sister and I shared a glance before going our separate ways. While I would search through the computers my sister would prowl the streets, retrace her steps and try to find some clues.

Our set-up within the two of us made it seem like Ling was doing the more dangerous work, but seeing that we've been in this city for years doing the same thing, it was highly unlikely that anything would happen to her, and while she never got caught in the streets I never got caught in the databases of the most guarded companies in the city. I furiously typed away at my old keyboard, the clacking noises would keep their pace as I narrowed my gaze, my sister and I both knew what we were looking for, and like always in every scenario.

We will always be two steps ahead.
