A/N: I'll be changing it up with the POV.

JASPER

I had sauntered out into the courtyard behind the Lord, she had treated me well during the time that I was here, nothing like how my old Lord had treated me. I was whipped and burned, I was also forced into acts that I didn't want, and now it seemed like I finally got my good luck when Lord Elanna gave me free reign throughout her palace. I had a new Lord now, and my old one could suck my ass, not literally though please.

"There they are," the small rabbit creature spoke up and pointed towards where the vegetation was most dense. My vision fell on Ling first, I wasn't sure if there was a reason, but when the two were together I always found myself searching for Ling first. Now that their hair lengths are different it's much easier to tell who is who, but in the beginning I was continuously getting teased by Ling for thinking Rang was her. Rang and Ling took their sweet time walking over to us, but when they finally did get within hearing length Ling relaxed and leaned into Rang. They must have had an emotional talk since Ling, the more perky half, was looking down.

"I wanted to read this out while everyone was here," Lord Elanna brought out a black envelope with gold encrusted letter on the front. My Lord swiftly cut it open and let the sheet of paper slip out onto her hand. "Is everyone ready?" Lord looked mainly towards her two daughters, Rang had her monotoned expression, and Ling look solemn, but their nods were an enough answer for Lord Elanna to continue.

"Dear Elanna,

Greetings you slobbering slug, I have received your letter with a question that you had in mind, but you do not believe that I will answer you with just a quick read do you? Loki is not a threat, he is an opportunity, and I suggest you hand over the girl while you still have the time to think, oh wait, you are not even capable of that.

Much hatred,

Cromb"

"Who the fuck names their child Cromb? Sounds like crumb," Ling scrunched up her face, quite a cute expression really. Lord Elanna gave a sigh and just like that the tension grew even darker if that was possible.

"What do you want to do Rang?" Lord Elanna pointed the attention directly towards Rang, the target of Cromb. The more quiet twin lowered her head, and she raised her hand to lay it over her eye. Ling reached up and laid her hand over Rang's.

"Rang I know what you're thinking. Please sister, it isn't necessary," Ling nearly choked out her words. Nova, Lord, and I backed up a few steps, this was a moment not to be bothered. Not much words were shared after we backed away, Rang only gave Ling a small smile which I have never had been blessed to see before. Ling shook her head to disagree one more time, but Rang gave a pleasing expression. "Then I'm coming with you," Ling turned towards us before Rang could have any time to do anything. "Lord, we will go to wherever this Cromb is, and bring back something, because I can't stand this," I wanted to jump forward and object with that absurd idea, but Lord Elanna beat me to it.

"Rang, you don't even have an ability. What will you do," Lord questioned Rang, during the months here Ling had been able to grow her strength in her newfound abilities, although Rang on the other hand never saw a change in herself. The twins seemed to become amused as Rang let out a chuckle and Ling laughed out loud.

"Elanna you have never seen our skills before have you? We have also never told you about our past." Ling crossed her arms and whipped out a knife much faster than I ever could, and I was trained by an asshole to be an assassin. "We were the most feared in the area that we lived in, and we have killed too many people to count." the dark tension rose and instead an atmosphere that struck fear in weak people's hearts settled down. When I looked towards Ling and Rang I saw that their faces contorted into ones that I didn't recognize anymore, they looked liked people that murdered for fun. A grim reaper towered over us and leaned down to breathe into my face. This was my ability, to be able to know the true self of anyone that I meet, a representation of them surrounds them like an aura. With this I could tell whether or not someone was lying, because then their little representation of them would show it on their expression. Although Rang and Ling's representation scared me, not even Cromb's was as severe as this. It seemed as if they were bound by the same soul, I raised my eyes to look at the huge skeleton and what I saw were a bunch of locks and chains bounding each half of the figure to the other.

"I'll trust you then. Take Nova and Jasper, you're to leave whenever you feel you are ready," Lord Elanna clenched her fists, she was scared for them, but the determination in the twins would never be faltered, it was just the trust that was required to be given to her daughters. The family traditions in this castle were new to me, even though I've been here for a few months now didn't mean that I've been cranking it up to learn the culture. My previous home was simple enough, the strong lives and the weak are used. That rule was what everyone lived by, and therefore there were deaths every day. Our population dwindled, and now Cromb is starting to look for ways of keeping his number of citizens high, and deaths a bit more lower.

"I understand," Rang nodded her head and detached herself from Ling, "I'm going to get ready," the sentence was simple, but the way she looked towards her sister seemed like there was more meaning than what was actually said. Rang walked through the courtyard doors back into the castle, the solemn air still hadn't lifted while Ling, the Lord, our servant, and I stayed like statues in our spots.

"Ling, I'll help you get ready, come on." I walked up to Ling and grabbed her arm to pull her away from the Lord and Nova. It was as if I was dragging a block of stone that had lived through events that should have cracked it, but it still had a smooth outer shell. The walk towards the twin's room was silent, I had memorized the amount of steps it took to get to their room, turn left here, keep going straight, then watch out for stairs here. The long spiral stairs that led up towards the highest floor was unnecessary, the Lord had an elevator installed within the center of the castle, but it seems as if there was a slight feel of olden eras that Lord Elanna may have wanted to feel.

"I can walk Jasper," Ling's voice seemed to drag on, I slowly pushed her upwards so that her balance was straighter, I could only watch as Ling sauntered into the room, Rang was already all packed and was sitting next to a large bag on the bed. The twins didn't exchange any greetings, it was as if the communication just stopped on a mutual agreement.

"I'll be waiting downstairs then guys," I spoke quietly before leaving the silent room, my walk away from the room was momentarily stopped when I heard a crash from behind me, but it didn't make me turn around. All of a sudden I felt so helpless, the times grew and with it also my caring feeling for the twins. They had gone through things that they could have avoided, it was our species that mistakenly brought them here...

Each step taken going down the stairs seemed to get faster, my feet wanted me to get as far away from the twins as possible. I was raised and born into a society where not a single life matters except for your Lord's, why would I start caring about the twins now. This was an unacceptable field that I was playing in, and the fact that it wasn't just a simple love between friends that I was feeling for one of the twins made this even harder. Marriage was looked down upon, marriage was shit, the idea of binding yourself to one person would only be a weakness if you had orders to kill them later on. I would have to take care of this problem no matter what.
