Friendship starts when somebody says, 'You too!? I thought I was the only one,

Chloe -

“You're impossible, William!” I shout at him; disrespect demeanor showing.

I lose the game. Yep, for the 16th time now. My brother's cheating, I know that. I just hate playing chess with him, he's totally annoying! I just joined him because it's a dare. If I'll lose, I'll treat him in Starbucks for a day, like how cool is that? Well kindly take note the sarcasm intended. If I'll win, he's going to shop for me in Forever 21. Who would reject that offer?

He laughs, “Just admit it little sis, I'm better than you. I guess my pocket wouldn't be hurting, but I bet yours will be,” He continues to laugh, clutching his stomach.

I scowl at him, “It's just a day, big brother!” I remind him, rolling my eyes.

I guess I should not have done that. I'm going to lose money, lots of money, specifically speaking. I'm sorry wallet! I swear I won't bite in his bait again.

Instead of receiving laughs from him, he smiles to me. “It's just a game, Chloe. I won't let you lose your earning just for this dare. Of course I wouldn't be needing those coffees; I don't want to be insomniac. Just keep your money,” He pats my shoulder before heading downstairs.

“Gee, thanks!” Is all I could mutter. What has gotten into him? Is he going to be a priest?

“Just please remind yourself that I'm better,” He adds, letting out a discreet laugh.

My smile faints instantly when he say that. Evil brother! Now push back the thoughts of him being a priest, Chloe. He isn't going to be one.

I clean the mess in my room and place the chessboard back to the way it was. I check myself on the full length mirror one last time, dusting off the invisible dust I've seated on a while ago.

I am still on my Pajamas, not regretting anything my outer appearance. Besides, no one will see me on this though. Why do I have to make over myself just to eat breakfast?

I bolt downstairs, seeing my family eating breakfast, obviously. The nice aroma of the fresh brewed coffee and the waffles lingered on my nostrils. I'm in heaven.

“Good morning Sweetie,” Mom greets, beckoning me to sit beside her. I oblige as I sit comfortably on my chair.

“Good morning Mom,” I greet back, throwing her my sweet smile as she gives back the favor.

“Ha! Mom, I beat Chloe again,” William teases, pumping his fists like he won in an international game.

Mom shoots him a deathly glare, which caused me to pull my tongue to him. “I just let you win, don't be such an airhead douche,” I press, earning a scowl from dad.

“Language Chloe,” Dad warns. I lower my head as I mutter a small “Sorry”. I can see dad nods from beneath my lashes.

I start to grab my knife and fork and dawn shoving the delicious waffles on my mouth repeatedly until I finish my plate. Well not literally my plate, but you know what I mean.

Right after washing my plate, I got a call from one of my best friends in the universe, Monique. She wants us to go to the mall since it's already summer. That's a great idea, I thought to myself.
